Bullseye!.........'71 Dodge Dart, right at home @ FBBO

Prop, Im pretty sure they do make a sway bar kit for these cars that bolts on, I know my dad was looking at one for his 70 dart. Ill ask him about it.

Man I guess I'll consider the tires kicked and fires lit! Haha glad to see everything underway and that you scored such a solid little car, those floors look great!

Hey Prop. He is right. 3 companies make a bolt on sway bar kit. Two of them are 1 1/8 " diameter while one is 1.5 inches. I believe the companies are Hotchkis, Adco and Hellwig. The prices range between $230 and $300 depending on which one you choose. Out of these kits I think one has the bolt on tabs for the lower control arm / sway bar end links. I'm not a big fan of a bolt on deal. I'd prefer it welded, that's why I would consider getting a set of stock lower control arms with the lower tabs.

Go to Summit racing or Jegs and search for the sway bar kits I mentioned. You can talk to a service rep to see if they will work with a stock control arm with the tabs or f they are a bolt on.

Here you go Prop: everything I found on the Summit website. (Please double check for correctness)

Hotchkis Part Number 22385 F front sway bar 1.5 inch diameter, $299.97

Addco Part Number #150 front sway bar, 1 1/8" diameter $179.26

Hellwig part number 55906 front sway bar, 1 1/8" diameter $230.99 ***** This one is HOLLOW to shave a little front end weight off ****

Hope this helps. I'm not trying to highjack your thread. I really think it's a cool car and want to see you get it back on the road.......

Awesome! Thanks again '71. You're making this too easy for me lol!

Well....Some folks have a sun roof, some a moon roof, but I got them all beat....I have a Planetarium roof! It's Cassiopeia and Orion's belt! LOL Anyways, the roof is dead.

Planetarium roof, that's funny. You sure aren't wasting any time.

Thanks fella's. A bit tough finding time, but trying to use any time I can. Thanks for the heads up on Amazon Kahn.

No work done tonight, but was still on the mopar scene with a craigslist lead

Took a drive and ended up picking up a real nice pair of fully assembled 340 "X" heads, and the seller threw in a 340 Intake as well....all for $300 bucks. I couldn't pass them up. Price was really decent. A guy could easily slap these heads on and run them. My original plan was to run a ported set of closed chamber aluminum heads or the RMS Indy's and shave the pistons for zero deck to build a quench motor. Now I may change my plans....I don't know. Might be better off selling these off to someone building a car back to factory specs. I know I won't be running the intake, if anyone needs one.

Thanks 360! Heard a lot of good things on the RHS heads. Sounds like you got a swinging deal on the swinger tin.

Good on the Disc brake hardware Jay, thanks for the offer. I'll probably look at just selling these outright. Spoke with a local old school head builder in Appleton today. After talking with him, these heads belong on a car where someone's looking for originality and factory performance. Don't think I can push myself to start cutting/machining/modifying these heads to try and meet my needs. They're open chamber and I wanted to go the closed chamber/quench route. Guess I'm learning as I go here.

Sweet
Late to this party.....lucky I made it as your already balls deep, and I know it won't take long for you!

You know if this is too easy .....you'll be looking for the next project as you go

Hot damn Will!!

Scratched Almost all that itch, eh???

I knew you couldn't sit still for long lol

Im damn glad to be able to witness another beautiful, proper MoPar being revived by a true craftsman :headbang:

and better yet, it's for the little lady...it's the least you could do for her supporting you thru Skeletor's resurrection! :hello2:

That is a nice project car...congrats! And thanks for sharing on the B site. I plan on doing the same when I build my Dart. I picked mine up 18 years ago in Texas, and I'm just getting started at it now.

As clean as this car is Will, you're going to have this done in half the time as Skeletor. Has the missus officially come up with a name for it?

Will,
I have a TON of pictures I took of the Duster during it's restoration. Probably well over 1,500 !!!!!! So if you need any documentation photos or close ups of how things were assembled, I probably have them. Just let me know if I can help. Happy Easter !!!!!
