Bullseye!.........'71 Dodge Dart, right at home @ FBBO

Thanks fella's. A bit tough finding time, but trying to use any time I can. Thanks for the heads up on Amazon Kahn.

No work done tonight, but was still on the mopar scene with a craigslist lead

Took a drive and ended up picking up a real nice pair of fully assembled 340 "X" heads, and the seller threw in a 340 Intake as well....all for $300 bucks. I couldn't pass them up. Price was really decent. A guy could easily slap these heads on and run them. My original plan was to run a ported set of closed chamber aluminum heads or the RMS Indy's and shave the pistons for zero deck to build a quench motor. Now I may change my plans....I don't know. Might be better off selling these off to someone building a car back to factory specs. I know I won't be running the intake, if anyone needs one.

My $300 budget approves. Nice score!

Sweet
Late to this party.....lucky I made it as your already balls deep, and I know it won't take long for you!

You know if this is too easy .....you'll be looking for the next project as you go

Thanks Polara! This one should fly by pretty quick I hope. So many other projects going on, hopefully I can stay on track with this one.

Scratched Almost all that itch, eh???

I knew you couldn't sit still for long lol

Im damn glad to be able to witness another beautiful, proper MoPar being revived by a true craftsman :headbang:

and better yet, it's for the little lady...it's the least you could do for her supporting you thru Skeletor's resurrection! :hello2:

Thanks Brother. Glad to have you along for another one. You're right, it's the least I could do for her after putting up with me and the rotten Plymouth. I hope I can make the car everything she would want of a little Mopar.

Cool car prop. I will be following your thread every step of the way. Enjoy the build.

Thanks man! I appreciate you following along.

That is a nice project car...congrats! And thanks for sharing on the B site. I plan on doing the same when I build my Dart. I picked mine up 18 years ago in Texas, and I'm just getting started at it now.

Thanks for letting me share here on this B-Body site. Looking forward to seeing your build come to light here as well chargin!

As clean as this car is Will, you're going to have this done in half the time as Skeletor. Has the missus officially come up with a name for it?

That's the plan Roger. I really don't want it to go idle. The wife wants to stick with the name that was on the car....Looks like this Dart is "Rio".

Will,
I have a TON of pictures I took of the Duster during it's restoration. Probably well over 1,500 !!!!!! So if you need any documentation photos or close ups of how things were assembled, I probably have them. Just let me know if I can help. Happy Easter !!!!!

Much appreciated. I can imagine you're gonna be a heck of a resource for me, if you don't mind. You've already answered some pretty critical questions in just a couple previous posts. Much appreciated sir!

heck the way he is going at it it should be done by Tuesday!

LOL....I wish man.....I wish!

Is it just me or is this resto taking forever?? lol

Hehehehe......it's draggin on Goon

My $300 budget approves. Nice score!

Funny you say that! I thought the same exact thing, shortly after buying them...lol Thought "Hey, GearAddict could swing these puppies"

Well guys...unfortunately not any progress. Soooo much going on. The wife and I picked up just over another acre behind our house a couple months ago. Now that the ground is actually thawed, I've started a project back there........planting my own mini woods. I put about 70 trees in the ground yesterday. Anything from 8-9 foot tall to a foot. If I don't see another shovel for a month, i'd be happy. Pretty bad when you have blisters under your calloused hands, even though you wore gloves. Ah well........it's just work. Something to be said about an honest days work. Anyways, I have 500 hundred more tree's coming from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, so I barely put a dent in the work back there.

The roadrunner took up a chunk of the weekend as well. Had a pesky oil leak from the front of the oil pan. Not a bad one, just a drop or two every time she parked. Never the less, drove me nuts, so popped of the pitman arm, inner tie rod and idler arm and swung the center link out of the way and dropped the pan. I'll wrap that up tomorrow night.

Anyways........Easter took up a good chunk of the day. So, Happy Easter to all you guys! Thanks for all the comments fella's! I'll be pegging away at the Dart this week.

Rio? like Mar-Rio? that's a great name for a car! lmao!

Will, you're like the Bob Ross of the North, happy little trees everywhere!

LMAO! Hilarious.....Yup, regular old Bob Ross. I'll have to work on the Fro. I'll keep pegging away at the "Happy Tree's", find a brush to "Beat the Devil out of" and grab a tube of Phthalo Blue. Glad you like the name there Mar!

Careful Will, sounds like Skeletor is just a tad bit jealous. Doesn't want you to spend all your time with Rio.

Nice looking project car Prop. It certainly makes a change to start with a relatively solid body.
Have marked this thread down for constant updates :headbang:

Any updates this is just getting good. That will be an awesome car when it is done. I really like A bodies had one in high school and would love to get another some day.

I was just thinking the same thing. Hows it going prop?

Dart's been unfortunately on the back burner for the past month or so fella's. I've been collecting a lot of parts, and the motor is well on it's way, but there's been way too much other stuff going down keeping me busy. Bought another acre behind my house and just got done planting 600 white pine, white spruce, white birch and red oak back there. Also just got done putting in a 800' long road and 150' x 200' clearing in my chunk of woods up north.

Also just got done with a week of hanging out in the woods and doing some hiking, fishing, camping and kayaking with the nephew. Had a good trip, caught a lot of fish, seen a lot of neat stuff. He's pretty young and my sister is a single mom, so it was good to get him out in the sticks and learn how to fend for himself with his uncle. I didn't take him as crazy remote as I usually go, but he still learned how to collect/chop decent wood, start fires dry & wet, fishing basics and cleaning fish, navigate a kayak in calm & rapid waters, using maps/compass, setting up a base camp, forage for clean water and food.....just kinda simple stuff. Sure do appreciate living in a state where there's so much untouched land to enjoy.

Anyways... He had a good time and I hope he learned a lot. As far as the Dart, looks like I should find some time now to really start pegging away. Got some odds and ends to wrap up before we start building a pole shed on the land, but between then I should find some ample time. Thanks for checking up gent's! Shot a little vid for him, to remind that it's the simple things that can really put the mind to rest:

Wow, Thats the way to enjoy the summer, all that planting and being in the woods getting the work done and having fun with everything else, Cool Will, and thanks for the video, we do it close hear to home but the woods we love, and right now there's no snow, its beautiful either way but the fire out back here is much more enjoyable with summer hear, I still don't really care for those smore's i think Gabby calls them, but i love my all beef hotdogs on a stick over the coals lol.. ENJOY bud, its all fun in the woods!!

Very cool Prop, he'll always remember those trips and how cool his uncle is.

Wow Prop . . . will you adopt me so you can be my COOL Uncle too ! ! ! Very nice property and great campsite ! ! !

That looks awesome! Just reading that and looking at the pictures helped me relax!

Wow looks like a great time. He will definitely remember it and learned some invaluable skills in the process.
