There is none. To call me pissed, is a total understatement.

Feel like a target. Bone doc will not even schedule surgery, until he gets a signed paper from a cardiologist...all because I've had two heart attacks...last one was ten years ago.

Been to the cardiologist, several times now, and he has run me through every damn thing he can come up with. Handful of tests, including a stress test...says my heart is a little weak.
So, yesterday, trip to the hospital, 'day procedure' to run the camera up my veins for a look. I was told, only 4-6 hour deal, in and out.
Eleven hours! Every hour that passed, toss a few more on. Last two hours, surprised me, and brought out a fairly new device. A damn vest, with a battery pack, that will actually 'shock' me, if needed! And, I'm supposed to wear this thing 24 hours a day...for who knows how long.

All this for a broken wrist. Must be severe. I broke both wrists and the right one twice as a kid. Poison Ivy under the cast was the worst part. Good luck.

fell your pain hoping you a quick recovery good luck

They must be worried about the seditive. What they doing for your wrist? Surely not just leaving it to heal on its own and hope for the best?
Take it you have no pacemaker. That vest also recording?

Things healed faster when we were kids. Broke the same arm 3 times in the first grade. Was in a cast dam near the whole school year.
Dam cast itched bad enough without poison ivy.
You have some sanity left apparently

C'mon let's do a few more tests ($$) & then we'll get down to business. 11 hrs- humph "we have other patients too"!!!

Wow that’s a major bummer. Can’t they just localize your wrist and do surgery that way. Nah suppose not since the nerves run all the way up to your neck. Huge bummer - hope,it wasn’t the hand you use for ....... ...!

I have been trying to get reimbursed for waiting room down time.
What's up Doctor? Oh ur car won't start this morning, uhhh we can get to ya tomorrow! It is cold, icy, snowy & most of the roads are closed.

There was noises made about a pacemaker. Recording? Wouldn't doubt it. Only as long as I have it on...won't say, on that. Still make up my own mind!

The whole thing, for the orthopedic thing, is telling me they'd like for me to wake up! As far as I saw on the x-rays, more separated at the joint, forearm to wrist. Healed, but wrong, since my hand got shoved back. Happened in Seattle...live in Texas.
Told they'd have to re-break it, then metal plate, to make it right.

Just the way things are, I guess, along with all the BS rules going by. I don't! Ten years no heart problems, and now this. Yeah, gotta admit, target on back=money making deal, huh!

68, 69 in another month. And, they think I'm going to put up with this for very long?

Rebrakes are not good. But if it hurts now time will not make it any better. I think they what till they can extract the most from us.

Well aware of that.

From where I'm looking, guess there's a chance, might not get done. If I'm stuck with it, so be it. Have very low tolerance for bullshit...that's exactly what I'm looking at.
Almost funny (need something to laugh at), after several hours at that hospital, letting one nurse know about it, she found a male nurse. He said my own words! He easily saw my anger, and said 'I don't know you, and you don't know me'. I said 'your damn right!'
Also decided...this 'vest' is coming off today, 5pm. If the doc don't like it, so be it. Done.

Haven't been this mad in a long time.

Sounds like they are going well out of they're way to fleece every dime they can from you.
I can understand them wanting to take precautions and cover their *** but this sounds surreal
Hang in their bud

Appreciate that, BeeKool! Supposed to see the doc, in a week, or so, for the follow-up. Guess he figured I was supposed to wear this bomb, until then? Ain't happenin'!

Going with the flow, and if no pass, I'll just walk out. Hell with it.
I got rid of my sheep skin a long time ago.

My wife had three major surgeries in the last seven years. About 3 years before all of that her heart stoped when they put her under for another surgery. The heart attack was brought on by low blood pressure they were able to save her. As it turned out she had clear arteries but did wind up with some heart damage. So now before ever surgery she has to see a cardiologist. What we need to remember is doctors aren't God, there human and as much as medicine has advanced its not perfect. There not taking chances and there also covering there ***'s because of the sue crazy society we live in. Most doctors are trying to help not hinder. The doctors dont make the money with these tests the hospital does. Im sure some tests are not needed but anything with the heart they dont take chances.

Sorry your wife has had such a time. Hard to deal with as it is.

I won't agree, or dis-agree, with you. I've had many rounds with doctors, some okay, some not so okay. Everybody is different, as how things go, and how things are. Games don't cut it. I've had too many of them tossed at me. So, results...very few docs I trust. My life, my decision, and take it as it comes.

In my early 30s, had the one bike wreck, that screwed up my legs. Doc told me I would have been better off breaking all my leg bones! Instead they were all bruised...will never heal. So, I have bad legs. Another doc, back then, told me I have the legs of a 80-year-old-man, when I was 35.
Can't run, hard to walk very far, and have to move now, and then, or they go stiff. And, the day at that hospital, after the 'procedure', was told couldn't move my legs...wound up for 7 hours! Yeah, I was...

Bottom line is you get better and wrist is healed. Get back to normal life. It sucks being in hospital and hope your out soon. Tough as it is try and know most of the doctors want you to be right and are just concerned. I know maybe the food sucks but hopefully at least theres a few cute nurses LOL.....Be well and best of luck

Can you get different doctors?

Not in the hospital. Probably glad to get rid of me. Other doctors? Likely same BS.

The 'lifevest', is off! Lucky the damn things not in the middle of the street. Doctor's order, before they'd let me out...not a word about it, before.
Unreal. Just read reviews on it, and complaints. $650 rent per month! Some folks got bills in the thousands, a total rip-off. I don't give a damn what it does. If not returned, a $30,000 charge.

The follow-up doc visit coming up...Monday I'm cancelling it. The hell with that SOB.

I'll deal with what I have.

You are considered high risk therefore both the surgeon and anesthesiologist want you cleared before they put you under. Went through the same drill. Didn't have to get an angioplasty but did get up to the stress test. Its pretty much standard practice. They don't want any complications from the surgery.
