California Car Covers THINK TWICE before you buy.

In addition to cats I’ve seen similar damage to my covers on my boat seats from rats and raccoons.

Birds, cats, squirrels will do that but around here the moths do the same thing.
I will say the little chickadee birds stripped a quarter of the insulation off my old hot tub for their nests before I noticed.
My CCC is made of a more heavy duty fabric looking material than what yours looks like so not sure what level yours is.

I've got three covers from California Car Covers (for different cars of course) and have had ZERO problems with any of them. I've had the covers for about 10 years now, so maybe quality has changed? Difference being though, I keep all of them inside all the time. No exposure to the elements like you have described.

Those grommets on the side are there for
a reason. A bungie under the belly helps
to greatly reduce the flappin' in the breeze,
thereby reducing wear at the corners.
Kind of a pain to stretch across. I used a
straightened out coat hanger to snag the
bungie hook to pull it to the other side.
Had a California cover on my car outside
in Houston's weather for 5 years. No
problems.
the cover is so tight on the car it doesnt move. I might of taken it off 10 times this year. I think they changed the material.

Had a CA Cover for 16 years for my one of my 70 Challengers....that one was the last one to sell and the new owner didn't want it and it didn't fit my Belvedere so I got rid of it. Still was in good shape but it was mostly used in the garage and was outside only a few times.

I need one too. California Car Cover Noah now. Custom fit. About 10 years old needs replacement. Can’t find a duplicate in the site. And the prices! Jesus Chrysler. Looking for a link or deal.

Considering this one. 242.99. OMG. These things can go over a grand. Outside, carport, high and dry, mild climate.

I have California Car Covers on my 3 Challengers. I got one of them with my Challenger convertible when I bought it in ’97 and it’s still in nice shape even though it’s over 25 years old.
I was going to buy another last fall for my Magnum, and thought I’d get a good deal with a Black Friday discount.
Even with their Black Friday discount, the California car cover was still a small fortune (maybe $350) compared to what I’ve paid for them in the past (most recently 2016) which I think was a bit over $200 then.
I looked at online reviews on car covers and shopped prices with the other companies Black Friday deals, and ended up getting a Cover Craft. I’ve been satisfied with it.
My favorite cover is still the first one I got with the vert. It’s soft cloth and easiest to put on and take off. I never found that material listed for the covers I’ve bought over the last 15 years.

I have two California Car covers. One is 8 years old and the other is perhaps 4 or 5. Both have worked really well and are still in perfect condition. They also fit really well, so I am quite happy with them. Mine are used mostly indoors, but occasionally are used outdoors when I travel with a car. (No, I don't work for California Car Cover.)

I too wonder about the damage to @davek car cover. I agree the small pulls look like claw marks from feral cats. They love to climb on top of cars for a high vantage point and do so all the time at my father-in-law's place. The bigger holes? Who knows...

California Car Cover. 10 years old. Noah. This side gets the sun. Just shocked at price increase since last purchase.

It's a cat doing that. Guaranteed.

The only one I bought from CCC was a Noah like the one Dennis has - if I remember right I paid a little over $200 about 5/6 years ago. I wouldn't pay $1g for that regardless. Thievery ...... What I would do here - and maybe only could do here - would be take measurements, get the cloth I wanted and have someone up in Little Saigon make me one. Guessing but probably $200 tops.
