This fool on ebay says his 66 belvedere is a factory 440 car, for one thing the first year they put 440 in b body was 67 in gtx only, belvedere was made 51-70 and there's never been a single one made with a 440 not even by accident, not to mention his vin number is G (383) he says he is the biggest mopar gut on the planet and that I'm a fool, what a friggin crackhead

Link to the ebay auction??

I just did a check and no where did I see a claim of "Factory Installed" 440ci. You have a link to the eBay auction?

Sorry i couldn't get it to load from my phone, its red with black 67 gtx scoops, it doesn't say factory in the add, just 440 4 speed, i asked him what year the 440 was, and he started this rant about it being the original motor, and that they put 440's in all plymouths from 1964 till 1978 and he knew more about them than anyone in the country and called me all kinds of names

My policy is don't argue with a-holes, especially online. Let the guy be, but stay away from his car, as he's obviously an idiot or a liar.

You can also clearly see in his picture that there's no rb pad on his motor meaning its a low deck, and more than likely the original 383 def not a 440

Whats the ebay link? There's a number of 66 Plymouths for sale

I just feel bad for all the people who already bid and are gonna get ripped off

Read my last post, i can't post the link from my phone, its the only red one with black 67 gtx scoops

Yep, its very hard to see from my phone, but their might be an rb pad under the wires after looking again, but he still claims its the original motor

I found it,

From ALLPAR History

Under the hood, Plymouth was offering its widest array of engines yet. Beginning with a 225 Slant Six, the lineup continued with V8s from 273, 318, 361, 383 to 426 cubic inch sizes. Although all the other V8s each far outsold the last, it was the one to get most of the attention in the enthusiast magazines. The 426 size had been in the lineup for two years and, potent engine that it was, it had little of the "pizzaz" of this new 426. For this new one was the legendary Hemi! After two years of racing-only application, the Hemi was detuned just enough to be street driven. Magazine testers fell over each other in testing this power plant previously available only to the likes of Richard Petty. After looking over the inline 2-4bbl. carb set up and the cast iron headers civil enough to feature a heat riser valve, they got behind the wheel. They were docile under light use, but had an appetite for oil and gasoline.

Ironically, disc brakes, introduced in 1966 as options on Fury V8s and Valiants, were supposedly not available on the Belvedere series, the only one that could be powered by a Hemi. However testers found that the large drum brakes and extra firm suspension made the hemi-powered Plymouth a car that could turn and stop as well as go. In addition, it does appear that disc brakes were available for the hemi-powered Belvedere, at least in Satellite trim; Bob Baker ordered (and still has) a 1966 Belvedere Satellite with the Hemi, 3.23:1 limited slip differential, Torqueflite, and disc brakes, and several magazine articles from the time mentioned the discs as well.

The Belvedere model lineup remained the same as in 1965 from the low-line Belvedere I though the mid-range Belvedere II to the top-line Satellite series which was available in convertible or hardtop form only. Reflecting their sporting nature, the Satellites were not available with Slant Six power. Inside, they featured the new dash with a sweep-style speedometer, plus a console and bucket seats. The latter featured vinyl trim embossed to look like western tooled leather. [Bob Baker wrote that his own Satellite does not have the sweep-style speedometer, but has the regular dial.)

Yep, he didn't post my questions or his ridiculous rants or his foul language

He only wants 13K for it. even if it does need a new paint job it a reasonable priced for someone wanting a cool looking MOPAR. So what it has a 440.

I have to agree to that, If he said it was a factory 440 maybe he was just drunk or something and tired of all the purist shitting on him lol who knows but honestly I would buy that a, 4 speed 440 in that car would be a **** load of fun.

You are talking about 67 being the first year for Plymouth to use a 440 right? My 440 is dated 10 26 66 and came from a Cornet, also a fellow in my car club is the original owner of a 66 Charger that has the numbers matching 440 still in it.

That 440 date coded 10-26-66 would more than likely be for a 67 model year car. And if that guy has a numbers matching 440 in his 66 Charger than he probably has something very special there since it wasn't an option in 1966. 318 was standard and a 361, 383, and 426 were the optional engines available. Not trying to sound like a dick or start an argument. Just trying to provide information.

X2. Unless we're looking at the wrong ad, I don't see the words "factory" or "numbers matching" or anything like that. It doesn't look like too bad of a deal to me from just looking at the pics.
