My car was broken into on friday night ...Nice thing was he left the door slightly ajar letting the freesing rain creep in- And so in addition of my new GPS missing, sunglasses gone, ice formed around the window controls, speaker in the door is ****ed, not being able to close my door from the ice that had formed...

Next friday night im going to sit inside with a bat and hopes he comes back for more spare change.. I am soooo pissed and I want my things back.

When I was young- I wouldnt be let out late , let along my dad would punish me if I ever stole/ruined somthing that wasnt mine.Reported the incident to the police but what will they do- not much,,,

Broke into my garage and stole my welder,O.P.P. took the information over the phone, gave me an incident report number and told me to call my insurance company.I know the anger your feeling, you gotta let it go.You'll end up in jail for assault and the bastard could sue you,it happens. It's only stuff, not your family.

On my street we have very good neighbors but we have alot of people going up and down the street.I've had a lawn mower I was selling walk away by it self, my trucks been ram sacked 3 times for change and my cars been hit once.I've even had some expensive car stereo equipment disappear from my garage. The people across the street had their bench taken off of their front porch and the people 2 doors down had all of their solar lights taken out of the garden....Weve sat out many nights waiting to catch the clowns, so far I've sent one old drunk to jail for taking change from my car...Got a camera up now waiting for the next joker.

Dang you got crime in canada? We have that too...It,s usually illegals or tweekers were I used to live...I had to move to the hills and get a couple of dogs(boxers really vicious animals) to live in peace...I yeah did I mention my guns too?I never lock my doors anymore..

I feel for ya BUT... WHY would you leave your GPS in your car??? your just inviting the dickheads to break into your car! even if you leave just the GPS stand in the window, the morons will try and score! Being a little proactive saves alot of grief later. Dont ask me how I know this!:icon_axe:

If you wait for them and do bodily harm, you will most likely end up in jail....unless of course you put them out of their misery for good and can no longer try to file charges on you. Same thing if you electrify the car or make it blow up upon someone touching it. And no, I've never done any of that :D

I have, over MANY years, found that if my car is as clean inside as the day I bought it, no one touches it. Hide amps under the seats and any under dash stereo must have a removable face plate. What YOU might think is worthless like a nickel in the console, may be the nickel someone is short to get a bottle of wine or a burger. A worn out pair of gloves or shirt may be just what a street person needs for warmth. Even an empty McDonald's cup may mean there is change in the glove box. Yeah, cool stereo equipment is nice but what good is it if most of the time someone else has it?

Gps ??

I heard they dont steel gps anymore cause they can track when its turned on.

Have you tried contacting the company??

Unfortunately , this happens more often these days and even in broad daylight.

I am real proud of my garage, and tend to leave the door open .

My wife has told me that its not really a good thing to do, I kinda agree with

her , but wont admit it ( to her anyway)

Get this,my step son is 13 he and his buds decided to jump threw some guy's hedge on the corner on the way home from school. The home owner grabs my step son, rips off his back pack throws it at him then grabs him shoves him to the ground while shaking him and yelling at him.The guy held him by his wrists on the ground until the cops show up.And guess what, the guy did nothing wrong in the eyes of the law,but you can bet the cop warned me about going over there.Apparenty you can do what ever you feel necessary to protect your self/property even if it's against a minor....I think the guy over reacted, how about knocking on my door and working it out,I just live down the street....I've never wanted to smash someones face more in my life that at that moment.

The company cant track units enen though I have the serial # and now the cops do also(good thing I registered the #), im a idiot for leaving it in there but doesnt make what he/she did right.
Ill still be watching but I did stupid stuff when I was a kid like throw rocks at windows , but never went so far as stealing other peoples property.

Which brings up another good point, who here has all their important serial numbersrs? I know I dont ....yet

Go buy a knife, from as far from where you live as possible, nothing fancy either, the more common the better. Pay cash for it and wair a hat and sunglasses when you buy it. Make sure it's clean of prints, stash it somewhere handy in a plastic bag, like right beside your baseball bat and when you hear something suspicious outside, grab both. If you encounter some piece of filth outside and you get to beat crap outta him remember, 'I'm telling ya officer, I heard a noise and went outside and saw this guy breaking into my car, I was real scared and I yelled at him to f@#k off and he just came at me with a knife so I had to defend myself, no matter how hard I hit him he just kept saying I was a pussy and he was going to cut my heart out so I just kept hitting him......I think he's dead.....such a shame"

Damn, if I had done something like that, I would have been arrested! But yeah, he should have knocked on your door instead of doing that! Had that been my kid, I would have punished him then gone and punished that moron....

Funny isn't it, if I spank my kids at the mall I'd get charged but I can smack yours around and it's ok.

Sounds like you live in a bad area... Lol jk, We live on a military base and my dads mustang was vandalized 5 years ago?(along with a brand new Corvette and new Cobra on the next street) with something that made the paint bubble and melted whatever plastic it touched like acid. We called the cops and they said it looks like tooth paste and insisted it would have been less of a hassle if my dad had just washed it off... Ended up costing about 5k through the insurance company and we still had to pay over a grand because they wouldn't cover the driver door or passenger rear quarter because there wasn't enough damage on them... Then the next year our beater car that cost 2,000 hundred was sitting in the same spot and rear ended on the driver side door, Ended up getting 1,500 and my dad popped most of it out... lol.

LOL...no my neighborhood is great, it's just that it's a high traffic area and there are 3 parks surrounding us so there are lots of kids with nothing better to do along the way.

When I lived at home, my car was parked out front, someone broke out the back window. Said I never wanted to have a house with a garage near the front but wanted a detached garage in the back. With the place I have now, it's 130 feet from the edge of the street to the garage and it's lit up pretty good. So far so good but my 'good' cars stay inside.

Yeah, that really sucks and I know how you feel! I had a stereo stolen out of my Mustang years ago and some speakers out of my bug. The strange part was I ordered the stuff from Crutchfield and about a year later my cars were broke in to. This was in a court in a neighborhood where if you saw a cop drive through it was once in 10 yrs. Nothing ever happened there - until I made the order. Hmmmmmmmmm

I lived on the East side of Detriot for 20 years, and NEVER had anything messed with! But I guess when you have biker parties all the time, word gets around.
