I've has a bunch of **** coils of late it seems
don't know why either, even good brands

or possibly fusible link

If it still has them, points or capacitor fried

faulty grounds, loose of maybe frayed wiring etc.

Main Bulkhead connections on the firewall
it's ^^^^ corrosion & oxidation could be a culprit too

lots of things it could be, I'd check for spark 1st thing
if it's getting gas already,
has to be air or spark or something related

I org. thought it had points, being a 67
& org. had no mention of what kind of ignition
until you said later it had a CEI

your coil is weak & out of perimeters too

glad you found it, it runs now

org. style ignition control boxes are cheap

make sure it has a really good ground
make sure where it's mounted it gets bare metal contact

or it can affect the control units over time, too much resistance

I always put some dielectric grease on all the grounds/contact surfaces too

I put/add an extra ground wire (I used a 10ga)
from one of the bolts that mount the box
I run that wire to the engine block, use a rear intake bolt to connect it
far less resistance & seeking ground issues that way
