cool stuff found in cars during tear down

Roadrunnerman,
They were all too anxious to get rid of the car so they could close on the house, whick i'm sure brought a pretty penny. There wasn't a key to the trunk either. He said, "if you find anything valuable, let us know". I said, sure thing.

we had a client come in with a car to restore and when we took it apart we found all kinds of photos of his wife nude a lot of **** photos of them ,when car was complete we put them in a envelope in the console.:icon_lol:

Lmao I bet they send you guys one hell of a Christmas card now

This is all pre internet...
Ive bought police cars from auctions several times, Found shotgun ammo every time.
Bought a Crown vic from a cab company and found an old CCCP russian passport. After contacting several different agencies trying to return it to the rightful owner I found out that he was killed and I was paid a visit by the Sherrif's dept who showed up with 2 large gentlemen from the "Russian State ministry". I think this was the "Other" name the KGB used in the 1980's.
I was briefly questioned by my new soviet friends on the reason why I had a dead russian mans passport. My story apparently checked out cause they never came back. I cringe to imagine what could have happened if they questioned my story.
Id be sitting in a dark Ukrainian prison thinking "I KNEW I SHOULDNT HAVE BOUGHT THAT CROWN VIC"

No Joke

I found a left index finger in a 1968 Barracuda that had been T boned. I assume it was the driver's finger who didn't need it any longer as he was dead! It was under what was left of the driver's seat.

i once found a previous long time owners death certificate in a pile of papers in the trunk..

I found some more stuff in my car when me and my dad were putting the radio in my dad found the original trunk key so now I have the original set of keys

Found business card from salesman who sold car new. Leaves hundreds of them fell out from underdash when I got it to run right and was able to smoke the tires.

Found a couple rotten avacados under the front seat, P/O's registration info( I am the 2nd owner), and the original license plate frame from Glendora dodge, which is right down the road from me.

That would be a bit disturbing really.

image008.jpgimage010.jpghere's a cool but disappointing tale, back in '83 I bought a 70 road runner convertible basket case.
383 car, but as I pull out the seats I see the build sheet and just figured good to have, then I noticed the VIN on the sheet was for a V-code car! Of course I ran to double-check the dash plate, fender tag and radiator support! Nope, not mine, Rats.

Working on sons first car, a 91 formula. We are at the local upullit.
Son spotted a console in a trans am in better shape than his. While pulling the console we found roughly $22 in quarters. they charged $15 for the console. In my 30 years of playing with cars this is the only time i can remember coming out ahead.
