Cruise Control Unit Rebuild

I'd buy a couple them. Once the word gets out. Year One and Classic industries will be knocking at your door.

I need 2 for a 84 and 79 Chrysler Both have the same units.
If they work I'm in.

I got a dealer add on kit off of eBay that was not complete I but it had the items that I was missing such as the servo. It was over $400 I thick and the new servo was Worth worth ever penny. For someone to start re-popping these diaphragms one would have to order 1000 of them to recoup their investment and then I can’t imagine what the price would be for them.

I’ve bought some formable heat shield and encapsulated the servo to help protect it from the heat that it is always getting saturated with from the exhaust manifold. I have no idea if that is going to keep it from burning up, but it is so cool to have Cruise control working on my 73 charger.

If anyone is interested, I have these cruise control item here posted for sale. All three parts are new.

Me too.

I’ll have to check my stash of cruise control units to see what I have. Back in the day I put them in everything I drove.

I have a few diaphragms made. but I need someone to test one before I start making them to sell. Anybody want to volunteer? Must have a running driving car. And I will send you one for free to test. Send a pm. Sincerely, Tony.

So I discovered all the under dash wiring and switches for the cruise control unit seem to still to be present, so good news.
My question now is why the cruise control unit that came with the car only has provision for one vacuum line when the diagram shows two lines and the brake cutoff switch has a hose running into the engine bay? Is it the wrong unit? I have a 2nd unit off eBay that has provision for the second line.

Im sure the dual vacuum port servo ended in 1969 and the single vacuum port servo began in 1970. As I had both 69 and 70 chargers with speed control.

The two port unit was last used in 1969. The 1970 and up unit was a much simpler simpler system and is what I would use if I were you.
