Dinner at fine steak house $150. meal

Sometimes you just have to taste first class. Food, service, and atmosphere equal a hell of a night. Pizza and wings fill the bill when your just hungry, but mama's special night out better not include hot sauce.

Went to Strip Steak inside Mandalay Bay in Vegas on a recommendation from our casino host. There were 4 of us. The wives each got the Filet Mignon dinner and us 2 guys got the prime rib dinner. Great meal......bill.....$1400.00:eek:. This did include 4 glasses of wine, 2 daiquiris, 2 rum&cokes and 3 Corona's. It was o.k., it was comped but won't go there again.

Does anyone remember the old Western Sizzlin' steakhouse chain? They were in the South; don't know if so in other parts of the country. When we were growing up, my parents would sometimes take us to the local one...25 miles away. That was a BIG TIME NIGHT OUT because we didn't eat out very much. Their steak dinners were always good and very affordable.
Yes yes there is one in Carthage Mo

...perfectly stated and from the looks of things you took care of "momma" well....

Overated. Been to a couple over the years. Food doesn’t slide down easy just know what is coming. I’m a tight ****. Being able to afford it doesn’t seem to help. Never worth the coin.

Some of the best I've ever had I made myself and I have friends that can verify it !

In Vegas: Oscars's Steakhouse in the Plaza Hotel, at the head of Fremont street (old Vegas). The wife and my favorite. Owned by Oscar Goodman, former Las Vegas Mayor and former Lawyer for the mob. Best dirty Martini in Vegas, hands down. You can get the meal done for around $150/person including a glass of wine and a dessert. Awesome steaks, the equal or better than the "popular" joints in the Bellagio, MGM, Ceasar's. etc; let the other tourists pay for that real estate.

We go out occasionally for a decent meal.....usually steaks. But tonight it's at home on the barbie....
Mixture of cookedness for the family.... nearly forgot to stop eating to take a pic or two...Prime cuts of Ribeye. ...or Scotch as we call it.

I like to go to nice restaurants, but Ive never had a steak a anywhere that was comparable to what I grill in my backyard.
I usually go for seafood when I go to nice restaurants. Not that theres a ything within a 2 hr drive that would qualify as a $150 meal.

Without a doubt the best steak I ever ate was at Abner's in Tucson, AZ. It is a long, long way from where I live, but whenever I get out there, I go !

Many good places around here to get a great steak dinner.
Firebirds
Meat and Potatoes
Texas Roadhouse
Shakespeare...
But not Ruth’s Chris, was very disappointed with everything about that place.

If you're ever in downtown Chicago check out Gene & Georgetti steak house. It's about 150 per person depending on what you get, but an excellent meal and atmosphere.

The most consistently good steaks I used to get, were from Texas Road House. Cowboy-cut sirloin. I had too many expensive steaks that were average, when I was younger. I don't eat steak anymore... as it doesn't seem to digest well. Give me a great burger.....

Well, that would have bought me 627 gal of gas that would have lasted a lot longer than one evening or about 140 excellent NY strip/t bone/filet mignon and do it myself ! :realcrazy:
