Same here, everything is on the computer, but I do have a cheep cell phoneMine and my 10 billion pictures are on my desk top computer.. I don't even own a smart phone..
Starting on the interior, huh? That has to be a good sign Don. Hopefully the bulk of the metalwork is behind you.
Yes I cant wait to get mine "completely done" yours is beautiful! It's tedious work but rewarding!View attachment 947175
Paul, I know what you mean, I have accumulated a few things myself, in fact I was looking through some of it recently and found 2 wiper motors. BONUS, as I took mine apart (2 speed) and could not get it back together. I thought I would have to buy one!Nice Don. Glad to see some updates. I've been spending some time lately just sorting thru my boxes of stuff for my car. You'd be surprised at how many of some things I have...
I quit using self etch for that reason, years ago I primed some parts with self etch then they sat in the loft for years, next time I needed them they had rust spots all over them. It creates a good bond to bare metal but sucks at sealing moisture out IMO. On the other side I've seen epoxy primer hold up without any topcoat outdoors. So I was looking at the trunk floor and noticed that I had spots of rust bleeding through the self etch primer at the plug welds. AHHHHHH It was all over.
So I decided to strip it all off, (using lacquer thinner) and then mix up some epoxy primer and brush it on.

I didn't want to take any chances so I stripped the 3M self etch primer off everywhere where I plug welded and brushed on the epoxy.

Not sure why this happened ?
Thanks Donlooking good!
I just spent the last 2+ hours going through your thread....what an absolute legend you are Don!! I can not describe how awed I am with all the fab, metal and craftsmanship work you have done on this car!
I look forward to following along as you slowly get close to the finish line...
Thanks Wayne, I did it because I was afraid that if I left them on, I would bend them, and I wanted to freshen them up with paint. I did not remove the needle on the amp gauge (not sure it can be removed) I had to mask the entire gauge (the picture with my hand and the paint can) and I used a washer to help support the needleThat's some nice work Don! Brave bastard you are pulling those needles off! I cleaned mine in place and called it a day!
