Yeah I know, the melt is on this week up here.

I'm working on selling a couple things to help fund the project.

I got to say that you have done a GREAT job! Congrats to you as you are sure doing good on your roadrunner. Keep up the good work. Matt

We're not going to catch you in a green skirt selling Carmel deLites and Peanut Butter Patties are we Dave? If it comes to that point let me know..I'm sure I have some kind of emergency fund for situations like that.

I was thinking about shaving my face, putting on the hula skirt and coconut bra, sell some pina coladas down at the VFW on bingo night.... But the girl scout idea is brilliant, thanks!

Glad to hear I could help keep the wheels a turning Roger! Great to here Congress has alotted the funds to get your bird up and running. Can't wait to see you boys get your projects up on FBBO. Matt would actually be the pround owner of "The Dog", but when I get my rustbelt ressurection back on the pavement, you can bet i'll be looking for the next project to tackle. I'd like to get a 70' Superbee or a 68' Charger....If not that, probably build a 50's street rod. Don't be pissed guys but I tossed around the idea of a 58-60 Impala or 56-57 Ford Fairlane/Vicky..Whatcha think?

LMAO...and I thought I was nutz. Welcome to the club!

Few issues I figured I better point out to you guys on these AMD quarters. Besides the identified issues that were addressed before fit up, these showed their ugly faces while installing and where apparent on both quarters..

1- Quarter rear lower corner, rear window channel. After installing I noticed about an 3/4" to 1" crack open up on the lower side of the window channel area.

Fix- Lightly excavate for better penetration of weld pass. +10-15% in amps vs. standard 20 gauge welding. 10-15% drop in wire spreed. Grind down and finish

2- Quarter drop into gutter rail (near deck filler mate up). The lip that drops down on the quarter into the gutter is not tall enough. Make a 2" long relief cut at the 1st right angle drop. Gently tap top gutter till a firm mate is made between quarter and trunk rail gutter. Weld in relief area. Grind down and finish.

Wow Will!! She's gonna be sweet when she fires up! Soon from the looks of it!! Can't wait until the spring to start putting more of mine together! Awesome work Will!

Wow, cracks in new panels.... not good on a body that likes to twist when a man stands on the skinny peddle.

Glad you saw those cracks and fixed them before paint.

Thanks for the heads up.

Hey no problem fella's..I figured with all you guys building a 68-70 Plymouth B-Body like myself, hopefully you can catch it early if you have the same unfortunate problem. Like Dave said, "glad you caught it before paint." Imagine if you didn't? :frustrated:

New toy Gent's!

Bought this Hypertherm Plasma cutter.. This thing is Awesome!!! Carnage!!! Cuts through metal like butter. There's going to be holes all over my house and garage by the time I wear out the honeymoon period on this puppy.

Off to the races!!

yeah will i knew matt had the "DOG".it was late when i wrote that, been runnin' all day with nothing to eat,not even those powdered sugar donuts to give me a rush. awesome new toy you have there.are you going to create projects just so you have an excuse to use it? Is it just amd that has problems with the panels or do the other suppliers have that same issue?

LOL...Roger, yeah I guess buying the cutter would be a good excuse to get another project. Wouldn't want it collecting dust or anything. Either a 70' Superbee or 68 Charger...if not one of them, a 50's street rod.

As far as the AMD stuff, in my opinion they have the best sheetmetal out there. Sure seems more heavy than the others. As far as fit up, there will always be a bit of work to do to get them to fit right. My 68' Coronet I have and a 73' Charger I use to have, I used Goodmark metal. A 71' Dart and a 72' Roadrunner I previously owned, I used Sherman. Goodmark/Sherman needed more help/work to fit right than the similar AMD metal on this Roadrunner.

Just when a fella thinks spring is working its way back from a long winter, Mother nature decides to sock ya one on the chops....

After a crazy night of thunderstorms while snowing like a son of a gun, we ended up with 16" of snow..Some places got almost 2 feet just north of here.

So, I guess the idea of a bit more cozy garage are faded for a while.. Had a great time pulling the sleds back out..

Here's a pic of my sled sitting on top a drift about as tall as me, out in the back 40 behind the house tonight. Ah well, back to snowmobiling I guess---More work on the roadrunner this weekend!

Somebody choke that bloody ground hog!!!!
