Way to send that rust a packing Rob! You bring up a good point, just how many of those trailer queen's or red rope cars have the same dirt/rust in the rails and seams just waiting to boil out in the coming years. Bunch of extra work getting it out, but is sure a hell of a lot better than the alternative..

Got a chance to knock out all the patches up front on freaking frankenstein. Also filled in about a dozen extra drilled holes on the firewall/inner fenders as well as installing the upper fender mounts..

Thanks Dave! I still have to staighten out the upper radiator core support this weekend, since it looks like someone used it to pull the car up a cliff. After that, wrap up some light filler work on the inner fenders and then prime. Complete suspension rebuild/replacement (including upgraded torsion bars and sway bar), and the addition of power disc brakes along with new lines coming after that.

Those sound like some nice upgrades, I'd like to go to dic brakes up front sometime myself.

I was suprised how much the prices on the convertions have come down over the years Dave, so I jumped on it. I already had power, so I was halfway there.. My Coronet has power drums all the way around, which is fine, but I want to step it up on the RR being it will have the big 512 rumbling under the hood and it just may see a little bit different driving enviroment than the net...

I don't have a booster but I'd still like to go disc up front even if i just stick with non power master cylinder.

512? good lord "you'll shoot yer eye out kid"

lol!

I still got my stock power booster/master cylinder. Couldn't tell you the working condition of it. Seemed to work in the whole 3.4 minutes the car ran when I bought it. You can have it if you like, if you ever go that route.

LOL........I'm pretty sure i'll wind up killing myself. Ahhh well, at least i'll have fun doing it.

hey will this is just a suggestion but i would wait to install brake lines and master until after the car is painted other wise they wil be in the way.

you planning on having someone paint it soon? or waiting till later this summer? Are you still interested in having my old man paint it for you if so one of these weekends we will have to see if he can come out and look at her to give you an accurate estimate

I don't know what it's like everywhere else in the country right now but it's getting terribly thirsty up in northern MN at 1:30pm on a Friday.....

Hey prop, how many foot peddles on the floor in that car?

2 or 3?

Drinking already Dave? I've been thinking about it since noon, its a bitch when you have to work for a living.

Goat, just the rubber lines up front and the ones on the rear axle are going on before paint.. Master Cylinder will wait till after paint as well. I'm shooting for paint in later June/July. I plan on doing the body work at my uncle's friends body shop. the ol' lady has been decent enough with all the fab/metal work in the garage, but I don't think body work or priming would tickle her fancy too much. If I go that route, I'll probably see if I can use their booth and spray it myself.
They have no room for my car for right now with all the tornado/hail damage and snowstorm wrecks from the week after, so god even knows when I would even be able to get the bird over there.

I've also tossed around the idea of farming out the body/fill work as well. Something I really wasn't planning on, but now it looks like I might be picking up a 70' Superbee and could use the space if the RR is out the door even earlier. Either way I'll be sure to give you a heads up.

Dave.........you're right! It is Beer:30!

2 pedals....and a console

My god that 70' superbee is beautiful!!! Great color/vinyl combo with the c-stripe...Wow!!

70 over there Dave..Lucky dog..Think we hit 60 today. Was going to go to the big Jefferson Swap Meet tomorrow, but looks like rain all day and night.

man will if you keep this up you'll have to buy a new house as well something with a pole building so you can store these cars dont you have a yellow 68 net also. i'd love to grab at another car but im itching for a new sled next winter and the money i could have used for another project will instead be going toward the sled ( oh well i really need to finish this one first)

Yeah...Still got the Coronet Goat. Picking up a new sled eh? Awesome!! I'll have to definitely look you up this winter and hit the trails! What kind/brand you looking at picking up?

Things are getting pretty crowded around here for sure...Plans are for a 26' X 45' shop off to the side, but the money tree has been sawed down, split and burned for firewood so god knows when that will happen..

Gonna try to pull the Dodge out of storage this weekend if I have time..poor thing has been sitting since last october, pretty much like your GTX..

I need another garage or at least a pole building. I just have too much stuff and way too much of it has to sit outside.
