Ok so I am piecing a system together for my 67 Coronet and bought the Flowmaster tail pipes #15806

The problem I am having is I cannot seem to get them to sit properly under the car. They will sit at an angle if I get the front end by the axle in the proper place and if I attempt to get the tail pipe straight I cannot get the front end in the proper spot...it appears they were bent without the 67's gas tank in mind. Although, the box clearly says 62-74 B-body.

Anybody else try these? I think I may have to send them back to Summit. (although summit's catalog lists them 68-70 and I did talk to a guy from flowmaster before purchasing)

Thank you for posting your problem A 3" set of pipes are on my wish list. Its nice to know what not to get. I have heard that TTI have good products for our cars.

I returned these to Summit racing. They took them back and paid for the shipping with no questions because they don't fit. Their customer service is top notch over there...

Call TTI, they will fit the first time every time.

Got TTI 3" to the bumper--fit like a glove with absolutely NO rattles!

Thats all well and good but no way I can afford TTI. Thanks for your input and I know TTI is top knotch but just not happenin

I've got Flowmaster 3" Mandrel tubes w/crossover H-pipe {American Muscle Car Series} purchased from Summit Racing, out the back on my 68 RR they fit absolutely perfect with no rattles or leaks... I guess it the way they were listed, that was what was wrong & probably not the fitment for on the proper car... TTI & Accurate Exhaust are usually the more expensive alternatives, especially if you want mandrel bent in 3" tubing or larger... I'm not sure if Accurate even offers them in 3", mandrel bent tubing or even regular tubing other than the $1800 Max wedge head pipes & much more for beyond that point or out the back... Mandrel bent is not stock style, where the tubing reduced/restricted, where they are bent & much more restrictive tubing, but are great for OEM Restorations & originality thou.... better luck next time... Summit Racing has excellent customer services....

Thanks Budnicks. Yeah the pipes were bent nicely and were of good quality, I just don't believe they were for this application. The 68 tank is narrower then the 66/67 and would make all the difference in how these were located. Looking at TTI's pictures of their tail pipes tells the story. Their 68-70 pipes look exactly like these did. Their 66-67 pipes have 2 additional bends to clear the tank and is exactly what these needed to fit properly. I would recommend these to anybody working on a 68-70 as a good inexpensive alternative. However nobody sells the midpipes devoid of buying the $700 kit so you will still have to have them made separately.

Yup that is the plan. I am making my own mid pipes and mounting my mufflers and I will have them bend me up tails. But doing it this way I can spread the cost out a bit and I had already ordered the stuff to make the mid pipes thinking I was going to use those tails. Besides, I can do a nice job tucking everything up the way I want this way.
