Get the flounder. Everything is great, but get the flounder. Oh yeah, make sure you get the flounder.

Two more great places to eat and are owned by someone I know:

  2. Huey's at 115 E River St.

Somebody said BBQ? Wander over to S.C. and have some Carolina Style pork BBQ. It's to die for.

Must-do things while you're in the area:
Old Town Trolley tour
Saint Bonaventure tour
Ghost Tour
Olde Pink House restaurant for dinner. Make a reservation in advance. Get their flounder and see post #41 above.:D
Mighty 8th Museum.
Jekyll Island

Stone Mountain of course.
You will be able to say you saw the carving before they removed it.

If you are going to go through Chattanooga Ruby Falls is interesting.
Stone Mountain is amazing. I can't believe they want to destroy it. I can remember walking up that
thing as a kid with my family...

Yes, Chattanooga has some interesting stuff like the Incline Railway, Rock City, Ruby Falls, etc.
Got to be careful in that town also - there is a "bad" side to avoid as well and the traffic on I-75
can get stupid at times.

Last I heard its staying they are removing the confederate picture from their logo. Pretty sure that is correct.

I say, you only see the real America from the back roads, and I mean BACK roads. And that is where the real people live, the others are just wanna bee's!!! lol

Just watch out for speed traps... Those are some small towns. Lumber City is in the middle of nowhere. I've been through there once a few years ago it was foggy as hell 5 in the morning. Couldn't see **** until I was on top of a cop sitting on the side of the road. Good thing I couldn't see it made me drive slower than normal..

My Cousin Vinny!

Our trip was primarily a business thing for Mary but we extended it to include some boots on the ground type sightseeing for retirement property. Georgia and Tennessee in the early summer was beautiful and the humidity was tolerable.
I get angry and disgusted every time I drive by a tent city. I have grown tired of the brown grass 8 months of the year here too. The green back there is amazing.
