Forgive me, but I forget if you are updating your cam or reusing it. If you are putting in a new flat tappet cam, I strongly suggest you put a set of worn out, crappy, weak springs on the heads for break-in. Even when doing everything right with respect to RPM, startup lubes, break in oil, etc. I have seen cams fail due to higher tension springs. Springs are really pretty easy to change once you have broken the engine in. The two or three hours you will cost yourself swapping out springs after break in is well worth it (in my humble opinion) to provide extra insurance against wiping your cam.Valve springs changed, head torqued down.
