Golden Goddess heart surgery

Well that’s all for tonight unfortunately. Lifters are in, they all move happily and freely, push rods are in, and I was going to get the rocker arms on. However, I took them apart to clean them….and I forgot to take a picture of the assembly :BangHead: . Oh great wise members of the forum, half of the rockers are offset to the left, half to right, makes sense. But, what is the order they go?

When they are in wrong, they will clearly look crooked. The pushrods will be at an angle and maybe rub sides of the heads. This was what occurred to me when I had some in wrong with my Edelbrock heads. Maybe stock heads will be the same? I've found that the valves for each cylinder need the rocker arms to look like parentheses....( ) and the tips need to be centered on the valve stems.

They’re 440 source heads without one, so that gob I cleaned up after the picture was to plug the heat crossover in the intake and seal the valley pan.

Well a case of missing bolts is ending the night. But other than the valve covers, it’s all sealed up, so that’s a win.

Uhhh...define HOT.
A youngin' like you, you should be able to handle it, man!

Aaand that’s all. Harmonic balancer, water pump housing, and water pump. Don’t mind the mess, and how one of the bolts is on, it’ll get cleaned up and I know I’ll be removing bolts as accessories get bolted on.

That carb is going to be heavy as a brick. :fool:

Well I’m waiting on a buddy to help with the transmission, my hands don’t work well and I can’t mess with all the needle bearings and little things in it. So tonight I just piddled around with little things. I bought new chrome arm rest pieces over a year ago, finally got around to installing them. Thought I took a picture but I guess I didn’t, put sound deadener in the doors. And put the classic 70s steering wheel on :bananaweed: .

I still need better arm rests, and of course the horn button. But when you’re doing things on a budget, it’s when you have extra change, when it comes up cheap.

@Black_Sheep and anyone else inquiring. I don’t think I gave the chemical guys polish a good review. The stuff actually works pretty good. The steering wheel was pretty dull, and in just a few minutes of rubbing back to new. I even polished a Glock trigger with it, and some interior trim.

No, I removed the aftermarket one, because having 2 gas gauges that don’t work is silly  .

I’m thinking it’s the sending unit arm, tanks inc tank with the fuel pump in it. The sending unit works, the gauge works if the sending unit is out of the tank. But they don’t work together. I’m kinda thinking about trying one of those float less sending units
