Golden Goddess heart surgery

Sometimes, an additional ground wire to the sending unit helps the signal of it.
Dang....I wish we lived closer together. I love tinkering with these cars but am always doing stuff alone here.

Yeah, that was my thought too, and I added an extra ground, it works out if the tank, but not in the tank. I think the float is hitting something in the tank, and I’ve taken it out 3 times trying to get it right

Tailgates make the best transmission work benches

I remember the first time I dove into an A833. Brother took it apart while I watched, was waiting for him to come back for reassembly but he flaked out. Needed my car the next day so out came the FSM and I dove in. Intimidating at first but did it many more times after.

Those are easy. Pack them in with white grease or another that dissolves in gear oil. A broom stick or wood dowel can be used to hold them in place, cut flush with the counter gear. Get in in the hood and use the actual counter shaft to push it through.

Well not a whole lot done, but at least something got done. Bellhousing is on, and the shift mechanism and rods are on. Hopefully it doesn’t get in the way during install, what a pia it was to get everything lined up, and all the washers and clips in

Did you do your shift linkage adjustment before you slide it in? Steel bushings with the correct clips in?

Yes I did. I bought a new shifter mechanism, all the bushings, clips, and washers I needed. Because I got tired of punching the dash going into
1st or 3rd, reaching into the backseat for 2nd and fourth, and all the sloppiness in between. A cheap hooker was probably tighter then the old setup

Well it’s been hotter than Satans asshole after a chili cook off, but I got the fork and throw out bearing on. Just getting little things done until this weekend, hopefully I can put the engine back where it belongs
