Golden Goddess heart surgery

Here’s an update before I get called a slacker again lol. It’s mounted, I have the lines coming into, and 1 line coming out, just 3 more lines to make, but I thought stainless steel would be great to use, now it’s bitting me in the *** making everything a pain. But slowly but surely it’s getting done

Function over form. This will get ya on road.

Stainless sounds great until you work with it. Hard as hell, and mostly, making nice ends that seal well is a pain in the ***, and the larger the line the harder it is (try 3/8 lines!). I figured the steel lines in my Road Runner made it 45 years, so I used plain 'ol steel when I restored it 8 years ago.
I've worked with stainless a little bit - not tons, but enough to feel your pain

Good luck!

Alright, I finished up the brake lines finally! Brakes are bled, no flipping leaks!!!! Now I got to get it cleaned up a bit for a test drive

Wait…. Is that brake line rubbing the steering coupler?

I noticed idling in gear the car bucks really bad. Is that just because the cam, or does my edelbrock avs2 need some tuning?

Well unfortunately the plan didn’t come together, after more discussion with the Zack, we’ve concluded the master cylinder is garbage. Turned the proportioning valve in all the way, out all the way, didn’t matter, can’t get the dang things to lock up.

@khryslerkid , if I could get the brakes sorted out I could fix the dang sending unit…but if I did that you guys wouldn’t be able to have your fun

When you finally fix the fuel sending unit we'll find something else to :poke:

Good luck with the brakes. Great to see someone like Zack is helping out!

Weather and other projects got in the way, yes it Texas gets rain, and we also get cold weather. But I’m back to the GTX! I got a new master cylinder, and braided steel lines to replace the rubber lines, hopefully that fixes the brake problem.

I had to relocate the distribution/prop valve, which means I get to remake brake lines, yay

I recall you have front disc, rear drum, right?
I've come to believe that unless the rear brakes lock before the front, you don't need a proportioning valve. Adding one will never increase pressure to the rear, their entire function is to either allow full pressure already in the system or reduce it.
I've been around and around this with my own car. I even went so far as to use a pressure gauge to learn how much pressure I was getting so I could see if it was in the normal range.
