Golden Goddess heart surgery

And so it begins, a bottle opener, cold beer, and good music, off with the trim and then I get to dig out all the seam sealer :drinks:

Aaaaaaaand here it is  . Top
Window trim is fighting too much, my back is killing me, and it’s dinner time. That’s all for tonight!

How is the back glass trim held in? I’ve been fighting it all morning, I can barely get the tool under the trim, all I’m digging out is goo and dirt, I haven’t found a metal clip yet

Should have clips similar to the front. Someone could have installed it with silicone sealer or something. You may have to knife it out.
Good luck. Be careful not to pry on the edge of the glass.

They use a clip that closely resembles the windshield molding clips. The back glass is prone to leaking so it’s not unusual to find an excessive amount of sealer at the bottom of the window. The factory assembly line wasn’t very neat with various sealers…

Yes, I’ve been lifting a little, spraying out the dirt, move on down, lift, blow, lift, blow I’m not seeing any clips

Looks like someone removed the protective covering

Yeah, I put some tape over it temporarily

The clips were still there, it’s just whoever had stock in silicone made sure to use all of it they could

Damn, the previous owner must have worked at a glue factory! Anyway, I’m taking a break, I happened to see a roll of tape on the ground and decided to play with shapes.

What I’m planning on doing is painting the roof white. The side of the b pillar will have endless lines, and a fish scale effect border, I’ll then carry the fish scales along the roof and to the front in purple. I’m using a line from the vinyl top, and body lines, letting the car tell me where to go, I think it’ll look slick……but I might need to get back to working the trim so I can get to that point
