Got a lead on B body in Canada, but know nothing about crossing the border with it…. Im hearing taxes, special fees etc…
Anyone know a company/person willing do deliver to Connecticut along with doing the paperwork?

Get a truck and enclosed trailer. Go get it. You get a bill of sale, transfer of title and receipt. Go back to the border declare it. Pay taxes if any and go home.
That is what my friend did with a 58 Fargo I found for him.
If we lived in Ontario I would deliver it for costs. Unfortunately we don’t.
Is it possible for you to fly up and drive it home in nice weather?

Do you have to pay taxes at the border and your state sales tax? Are you double taxed?

I sold my 1964 Polara 500 convertible to a gentleman in Pennsylvania. He had to come up here to Ontario to buy it and be the importer. I got a couple of documents off the internet declaring the car was exempt from safety and emissions standards because of its age, and filled them out and signed them. The buyer had to complete import papers at the U.S.A. side of the border, and present the safety and emissions forms. There was no duty or taxes. Additionally, he did not have to present paperwork to the border at least 72 hours prior to importation, as we in Canada must do. State tax will likely be collected when registering the car for licence plates. Easy peasy!
Border crossings in Buffalo/Niagara Falls area will not handle car importations. This must be done at Lewiston, instead.

Taxed in your home state only. No duty on old cars at the border. The man that bought my car said he was in and out of customs in 15 minutes.

Same with the truck Gary bought from me.
He had to get the whole underside pressure washed, because the US Department of Agriculture didn’t want strange weed seeds imported. Seemed funny because lots of our cars were driven down old roads, across fields and pastures etc.

Guys…. So what do i do? Take my trailer up to Canada load up the car, on return trip…i have to stop at border and fill out paperwork and pay fees?
Can this paperwork be filled out ahead of time to expedite at the border?

Why not Google "how to import a classic car into the USA" and see exactly what the US Border Service states is required..

..and before you get too far into it. You do have a valid passport correct and ZERO criminal record including any old DUI's?!

As I said before, there are safety and emissions exemption forms to be filled out. You can find these on the internet, and fill them out beforehand, or do it at the border. The man that bought my car did not have a valid passport. He applied for, and got a North American passport, which is valid between U.S.A., Canada, Mexico, and Carribean Islands. Apparently it is easier to get than an International passport.

The comment was to RR Dan that piggy backed onto your thread. That said, if you read through all the requirements I'm sure it lists what forms are required somewhere..
