It goes away because the velocity picks up. Same as when you whistle and blow too hard.
 
sometimes if you have not got the set up right the carb will whistle. often it is because the the primarys are open to much at idle and you are past the slots in the primary bores. when you richen it you are changing the tune does it slow down when you richen it or speed up? and do you have your timming dialed in? it's a bit of a process to dial in a fresh engine i usually get my timing close then set the carb then check the timming again then back to the carb and so on till it's where i want it. i think you will find once it's dialed in your whistle will be gone
