Yeah, I can totally understand where your coming from Budnick. As for me shooting dogs, I keep my dog in her pin while she is in heat but these damn dogs literally somehow crawl over a 5ft fence and get in. I put Woven wire around the top and all, they still get in. So, I'll have to pay the vet bill for the pups "which she did end up having a liter of muts" and eventually have to find homes for them "that isn't right. So yes I shot it. Now to make you feel a little better, the last dog I wanted to get rid of I later found out was an elderly mans only companion and the thought of taking that away has reformed me "I will never shoot a dog again" unless of coarse it threatens my kids. By the way, anyone who says Rotts are vicious dogs obviously hasn't raised one "big loyal teddy bears".
goose69 I feel for you &
I think for the most part these guys are just kidding probably.... Like I said there will be exception to any rule,
sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do... I have a great fondness for animals they are what we make of them, better than many people I know... I don't begrudge anyone from protecting themselves, their children, their livestock, their property or their pets, with in limitations anyway.... I've grown up with allot of Lab's, had a couple of American Staffordshire Terriers {
very similar to pit bulls}, my mother loved Poodles & Cats, my sisters had Cat's, German Shepard's & Lab's, my grand parents Lab's, Retrievers, Doberman Pincers & Rott's, Aunts & Uncles had Golden Retrievers & Irish Setters, my Niece & Nephews had Aussie Shepard's & Border Collies, I have friends with Spaniel's, Whippet's, Greyhound's, Great Dane's, Boston Terrier's, Lab's, Whimerheiner's, Pointer's, Jack Russell Terrier's, they all have different personalities all are treated differently, some are even pedigree show animals, but they all can be trained, they all loved me for some reason too... A good friend of mine own a guard dog training Co., he's amazed how his dogs take to me, that don't know me even, he says I'm like some lame Dr. Dolittle or something...LOL.... My oldest sister is a DVM... I grew up taking care of raising, parrots, chickens, ducks, pigeons, horses, cat's, dog's, cattle, bull's & pig's {
prize winning}, also many family pets among the livestock etc.... I've seen allot of miss-treatment over the years,
by bad owners, that leads to bad animals & it's usually not the animal very rarely, that is the problem... My damn dog Buddy has separation anxiety & he liked to jump the damn 6ft fence when I left him home for a long period of time, like an afternoon or morning...LOL... when he was young & go roam the golf course, swim in other peoples ponds or pools, play with other dogs, chase the ducks, or roam around at houses I lived near too, I had to adapt to train him properly or keep him contained or he was going to get put away or killed, It was my responsibility, not his... Just killing an animal, especially a pet, that isn't raised for meat, is just wrong... even that is considered wrong by some people... There's a time & a place for lethal force, just a yapping annoying neighbors dog, isn't the time...
my $0.10 cents probably now...LOL..
