Help me SHUT THESE DOGS UP!!!

You can get pellet guns now just as lethal and much more quiet. lol I have one. 1250 FPS will drive a pellet clean through a skull and very quietly.

A few good suggestions here, none of which has to do with harming the dogs.. it's not their fault, its the owners. And you don't want to get yourself into trouble with the law. One thing mentioned, more importantly, is the visciousness (dog was used for fighting ? ). First thing I would do is, probably through a lawyer, is put the mayor, police chief, animal control officer, landlord, the landlord's insurance company, and the dogs owners, on written notice via certified/signature mail, of the existing threat of harm to you, your family, your daughter. Failure to act can be negligence should, hopefully not, any bodily harm occurs from their dogs.

I know or at least I think you guys are just messing around & don't mean to offend anyone, BUT I also don't find talking about shooting the dog, or baiting some ones dog, even joking about shooting or poisoning some ones dog, that isn't threatening you, it's just being a damn nuisance barking, in it's own yard, doing what most owners want a dog to do, is protect their property & family, albeit much quitter preferably {the dog is new to the area & probably feels threatened or out of it's element too}, any of those options are just 100% wrong... IMHFO there are far better ways to deal with the problem... I know if I found out some one was shooting "my dog", with a pellet or bee bee gun even, even if he was being a nuisance, I would go over, being right or wrong & "kick the liven **** out of them period", or shoot them in the ***, let them see how it feels... Venturing or walking down that road is not the right path to fixing your problem, at all, joking or not... It ain't the dogs fault, it's the POS owner... That is a very slippery & very morally wrong & completely illegal slope your approaching... sorry righteous rant over, carry on with the jokes boys

Yeah, I can totally understand where your coming from Budnick. As for me shooting dogs, I keep my dog in her pin while she is in heat but these damn dogs literally somehow crawl over a 5ft fence and get in. I put Woven wire around the top and all, they still get in. So, I'll have to pay the vet bill for the pups "which she did end up having a liter of muts" and eventually have to find homes for them "that isn't right. So yes I shot it. Now to make you feel a little better, the last dog I wanted to get rid of I later found out was an elderly mans only companion and the thought of taking that away has reformed me "I will never shoot a dog again" unless of coarse it threatens my kids. By the way, anyone who says Rotts are vicious dogs obviously hasn't raised one "big loyal teddy bears".

goose69 I feel for you & I think for the most part these guys are just kidding probably.... Like I said there will be exception to any rule, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do... I have a great fondness for animals they are what we make of them, better than many people I know... I don't begrudge anyone from protecting themselves, their children, their livestock, their property or their pets, with in limitations anyway.... I've grown up with allot of Lab's, had a couple of American Staffordshire Terriers {very similar to pit bulls}, my mother loved Poodles & Cats, my sisters had Cat's, German Shepard's & Lab's, my grand parents Lab's, Retrievers, Doberman Pincers & Rott's, Aunts & Uncles had Golden Retrievers & Irish Setters, my Niece & Nephews had Aussie Shepard's & Border Collies, I have friends with Spaniel's, Whippet's, Greyhound's, Great Dane's, Boston Terrier's, Lab's, Whimerheiner's, Pointer's, Jack Russell Terrier's, they all have different personalities all are treated differently, some are even pedigree show animals, but they all can be trained, they all loved me for some reason too... A good friend of mine own a guard dog training Co., he's amazed how his dogs take to me, that don't know me even, he says I'm like some lame Dr. Dolittle or something...LOL.... My oldest sister is a DVM... I grew up taking care of raising, parrots, chickens, ducks, pigeons, horses, cat's, dog's, cattle, bull's & pig's {prize winning}, also many family pets among the livestock etc.... I've seen allot of miss-treatment over the years, by bad owners, that leads to bad animals & it's usually not the animal very rarely, that is the problem... My damn dog Buddy has separation anxiety & he liked to jump the damn 6ft fence when I left him home for a long period of time, like an afternoon or morning...LOL... when he was young & go roam the golf course, swim in other peoples ponds or pools, play with other dogs, chase the ducks, or roam around at houses I lived near too, I had to adapt to train him properly or keep him contained or he was going to get put away or killed, It was my responsibility, not his... Just killing an animal, especially a pet, that isn't raised for meat, is just wrong... even that is considered wrong by some people... There's a time & a place for lethal force, just a yapping annoying neighbors dog, isn't the time... my $0.10 cents probably now...LOL..

sorry for the long winded rant, not meaning to offend anyone

All I can say is I'm thankful that I live in the country with 11 acres, kinda hard to hear the neighbors dogs plus my closest neighbor loves my dog "same guy that shot my last Rott".

Exactly Budnicks. All of my references to guns were simply from the standpoint of a last resort/protection thing. Certainly not advocating shooting dogs for barking. But, make NO mistake. If I had to choose between a member of my family, me or a dog, the dog's goin out. I make no apologies about that.

Budnicks,
No need to worry, I'm not currently or even seriously considering shooting the dogs, even with a pellet gun. Has the thought ever crossed my mind? When the barking has frazzled my last nerve...to be honest, yes, but thats something that stays in my head as only a passing thought.
Now saying that, if the dogs, anybody's dog came onto my property and posed lethal threat to any of my family or friends I would definatly be brought to other measures including shooting an animal. I would expect that to be the same if it was MY dog attacking someone.
I'm sorry if this affends anyone but NO animal is worth more than a person's life or even the well being of my family.
I have a friend at work that owned a pit bull. He was raised in a very loving family and was my buddy's very best friend. The family is a calm family too. But some neighborhood cats kept comming into his yard & tormented the dog. Dog chased them out but eventually caught one. Well he got the taste for blood and would thry & catch any cat that came near him. One day he snapped towards my buddy's daughter and friend so he took him out to the woods and put the dog down. I believe that to be a responsible move in itself. Those threats shouldn't be around. And in all firness whenever we were around his house the dog NEVER showed any signs of aggression. He just liked to play tug of war with his rope and give the kids dog kisses. I would have hated to see anything else happen tho and so did my buddy.
So no, there won't and isn't any shootings going on unless warrented. We really are just looking to buy the anti bark device. I've ad many dogs growing up also including irish setter, cocker spaniel, black lab, and a few mutt farm dogs but have chosen to own dogs that don't generally have inheritly bad issues or temperments. My last couple labs have been the best.
Well, thanks for letting me ramble on and on also.
Take care guys.
