My mother had a severe heart attack and feel in coma about 2 weeks ago. She's still in coma and intensive care right now.
Meanwhile the doctors changed their good prognosis to a bad prognosis (without really giving any FACTS for that) and i catch them lying all the time.
I was fighting for days before they finally handed me out the CT and MRI scans!

On the day after the MRI when we first showed up they said (nothing written down and signed) there is (or they think, not 100% sure) brain damage.
I then insisted on taking a look at the MRI myself. I told them i can't see any brain damage (I'm not a radiologist but i know a thing or 2 about it) and after
arguing with a couple of these clowns for at least an hour they admitted they really can't tell for sure if there is or is not brain damage. (Again i do not have this written down and signed)
All this diagnosis i had to do an a cheap 200 buck monitor (their's not mine) which is not suited for this.
But i'm currently in the process of buying a used monitor so i can take another look at home.

I feel like i'm at a car dealership or repair shop.

Well since i do not trust anyone in this hospital and i'm not a radilogist i desperately need another opinion from someone qualified, independent and willing to tell me the unfiltered truth.
The doctors told us if she has another heart attack or something they won't do anything and just let her die.
I told them i do not accept this multiple times and very easy to understand but they don't care.

If there really is severe brain damage that might be fine but i doubt it and i think they just written here off because of financial reasons and already after 1 1/2 Weeks.
She's not insured very well. Here in germany we have "Gesetzlich versichert" (which everybody including her has and means you get treated but like crap) and "Privatversichert" (which means
you get an apointment faster, a dedicated waiting room, a dedicated hotline and more treatment options but probably still remain sick if you have something serious)

BTW:
I can't do much because my dad is in charge and she also has made an "advance decision".
The only thing i can and wan't to prevent is them writing her off for no good reason. Because that she surely would not want.

So,

Do we have someone on board that would be willing to take a look at the ct and especially mri scans?
Or does someone have someone in the family, friends, golfing buddy etc.?

I'm somewhat in a rush because:
I pretty seriously think you should be going to another radiologist outside that hospital and paying the cost for that Dr to read the scan and provide an independent opinion.

You‘re simply not qualified to read or make any determination on your own. Asking guys in a car club to do so is a bit on the crazy side. No one is going to want that liability even if they happen to be a Dr. I’m not answering for everyone on this forum so we’ll see who pops up. You might also try contacting a radiologist in a good Bangkok, Singapore or Kuala Lumpur or another country in the EU facility and pay cash for a reading. The 3 countries I mentioned have excellent facilities and would be much less expensive than an EU option. It’s also entirely possible no one may be able to determine brain damage until she wakes up. There’s only so much that can be done with a scan. I’m sorry to here of your mothers situation and wish you the best of luck.

Well i'm not asking for a mechanic to diagnose the brain scans.
I was asking if someone on here happens to be a qualified doctor/radiologist or knows one that would be willing to do it.

I do not trust anyone in this hospital and i do not trust any german doctor to give me an honest opinion but rather defending his buddys.

I need someone i can trust and i don't really trust a stranger. Especially in germany/europe.
And i don't know much about any other countries except the united states.

Also, not that i get mistaken:
She definitely is NOT brain dead. Thats not my opinion that's a fact. There is also NOT a quarter of the brain appearing black in the scan or something like that.

I think you'll have more success asking the Corvette crowd.

Our survey said....... ^^^^ This was the top answer.
Although this was my initial reaction as well, I won't fault the OP for reaching out here. Back in 1981, when I was selling my first GTX for law school tuition, a member of the NEHOA, who owned a survivor Hemi GTX, reached out to me. He was a radiologist living in the NY metro area. Someone like him may be reachable through the contacts of this group. I don't know anyone like him at this point, but I would reach out if I did.

Good luck Michael in your search for answers and solutions to your Mother's issues. Nothing wrong with banging every wall you can find. I did it on a fishing forum with my Daughter, no stone unturned is my motto and you may be surprised what you can turn up.

I am going to the hospital to ask one of the surgeons to tell me why my 727 is slipping, going into high gear.

Sorry about your mother. If you have another doctor read the scan get someone who isn't in the area. Could be hard to do GetX'd idea but maybe easier than I think. Good luck, hope your mom recovers.

And my own personal Doctor could help you with that, he could also build you an airplane if you'd like.

If you can't find someone, there are online services that can give a second opinion. I don't know how good they are but here's one. Wishing the best to your mother.

At one point you used to be able to humbly ask those you consider friends a serious question.

You guys really disappoint.

This guy simply asked if anybody is or knows of a specialist. **** sakes. We are a community of thousands and worldwide. I think his query is legitimate. We never know who could actually be on here. We aren’t all just mechanics or body men that’s for damn sure.

Best wishes for your mother Micheal. I lost mine a few years back now.

But do you think a medical professional would risk their licence and possible lawsuit by stepping in on a car forum and read someone's images and make a diagnosis? Wow! That's pretty out there.

Why not. I risk my PEng here many days. His Mother is on the short strokes and guys are making jokes about what they could get their Dr to rebuild. Mine can do anything I can.

Michael is desperate for help. I think FBBO could do better as a whole.

Tough situation, hope she recovers.
One important point - if you are fortunate enough to find someone on here who can help, you will need it to be official, on their letterhead etc. If you go into the hospital and confront the doctors with a private message etc from someone on a car forum it won't go down well.
Good luck and hope it all turns out OK.

Whenever I need important medical help I ask a Walmart cashier.

Really? That’s what you think he wants? Wow. That’s pretty out there.

Maybe, just maybe, one lives within a hundred miles and would be more than willing to go and give a second opinion.

I’m done.

Good luck Micheal.
We just learned a lot about some members here.

Hey @Michael_ what Sam said might be a decent idea. Had to school my vet on prairie dogs with the help of a friend that has a PHD in zoology read an X-ray to see what was the start of odontoma. I didn't see it either at the vet's office but saw it pretty quickly with her help after sending her pics of the X-rays. Funny thing is that he had a vet there that was supposed to be an exotic pet vet but was afraid of PD's. Mine never took a chunk of hide from her but any animal could do that. I didn't much care for her and neither did the PD's. Last time going there, she was gone....
