Jeremey's Ivy Green Metallic 1970 Plymouth Satellite Sport 2 Door Hardtop

Ha!
So is another member. You been to a "Mopars Unlimited" meeting before?

And I dunno whats going on with photobucket, Had a member say the pics were alarming his Antivirus...

I was throwing thoughts around how to deal wil the broken bolt situation:
Only think I came up with with is get an angel drill and an easy out like roadrunnerman said~There should be enough room, But! it might be a little blind as to what your doing in there. Plus, I dont want to further mess anything up.

Got to thinking about the rear axle, Went out and it's really looking like an 8 1/4". Has the rounded housing with a cover on the rear (Link): http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/d...750_2544&keyword=rear+axle&pt=01434&ppt=C0363
Mine is pretty gunked up though, So I'll need to address that at some point. Also find out if it's a Posi and what Gearing.

About the threads - maybe try this: get a helicoil and install it now just temperarily to protect the threads. Use a reverse drillbit so when you bite into the remaining bolt it has no chance of driving deeper. That should allow you to do the work with the head on and without damaging anything. Sill kind of a risk I guess, but it should protect things unless you're really wreckless. Just pay attention and keep pulling it out to take a look with a mirror. Also, get a long helicoil so some sticks out so you can remove it when you're done.

I was taught a pretty neat trick a couple of months ago for removing broken bolts. If it is broken flush, use a wire feed welder to weld a nut centered on the stud. If it broken deeper, you may have to weld a flat washer on first and then the nut. Work it gently back and forth and it will come right out. The heat from the weld will actually help loosen the stud.
I changed a water pump on my old Jeep snow plow and broke 2 of the bolts off. Thinking I had a couple hour job with drilling and easy outs. The kid helping on my restoration happens to stop over and proceeds to remove both of them in less than 10 minutes with thus trick.

Title arrived today...

It's GREEN!

No Salvage, Rebuild or any of that Nonsense. Woo Hoo!

Having a good title in hand sure takes the weight off the shoulders. Now you can dig into your car up to your elbows.

wow, congratulations, man! she's free and clear!

you havent posted anything for a while. are you still working on the car?

Hi everyone,
It's been awhile. I didn't mean to leave you guys hanging.

This year has been so crazy, And I have not really been able to work on My Satty Sport.

Today I was setting my online accounts for the state DOL, And got a bit of a shock after linking Her to my Profile.
I'm not sure what to make of it exactly...

Maybe you guys can shed some light on what I'm dealing with here?

As soon as I linked Her, This popped up bold and clear:
"1970 Ply BEL2T
Reported destroyed on 12/12"
"This vehicle has been reported destroyed. If you want to re-register it, you will need to visit a vehicle licensing office"

I don't get it... I have a GREEN "Clear" TITLE from the 2nd of this year. I also tabbed and registered it same day, In person. And the woman who was doing the paperwork at the DOL assured me countless times there were no problems.

What am I facing at this point?
Did the wrecking yard screw me over?
Can the car even be driven or registered anymore?

I'm lost...

If your paper work is dated later than the notice of destruction ... its sounds like you have already taken the steps they asked you to do and its properly licensed now. Could just be the delay in the system. I would call the DMV and find out before doing anything further to the car though

The notice says the car was reported "Destroyed on 12/12".
Purchased on 12/19/2012, State & Yard Bill of Sale.
Registered, Titled and Tabbed on 1/2/2013.

Is it basically just considered a Salvage? The "Destroyed" wording is throwing me off.
Not to mention I have a Normal Title, And everything else.
Plus I was told by Seller and Department of Licensing that all was ok with the Car.

I have no idea. I would talk to a supervisor at the DMV. Sounds like they claimed it on a govt form to get credit for scrapping a hi emission car maybe ... I have no idea

I would double check with the DMV. and if they say it is all good, maybe ask them to have that put in writing for you to keep on file for yourself and maybe in the car in case you would ever get stopped.

I haven't physically gone in yet.
I'm Leary of doing that after reading they can take the actual Title and literally deface it.

I've done some research on the the states legal procedures for titles. It's all pretty crazy.

It all seems to come down to the Department of Licensing screwed up really bad somehow.
And I really need to come out on top here.

From what I've read, The car was destined for a "Salvage" title.
I won't even go into how many times I was told this would not happen, from many sources including state offices.
Silly me for believing anyone. I'll be sure to do the extensive research next time.

I'll also note that I have vehicle history reports printed out from just before and after the purchase, And they are squeaky clean.

What is most confusing is:
Someone with a car deemed Salvage or Destroyed. Couldn't possibly just walk into the DOL and come out with: New Plates, New Tabs, New Registration and an UN-BRANDED TITLE (Soon after to come in the mail).
There is a whole procedure you would have to go through to get all of that, And the UN-Branded Title wouldn't happen, Period.

So...
I really cant just go in with all the paperwork, Only to have them trying to cover and save their own *** or something. And leaving Me screwed.

To be honest, I'm not expecting much at this point. But I always try and hang on to some Hope.

I likely wont come out with anything less than a Branded Title, Have to go through State Inspections and then maybe having the Brand changed to "Rebuilt" if it passes.

Major learning curve here, Not a fun one at all.
*Sigh*

Congrats on the title and a great car, can't wait to see her return to glory. I've got quite a story when it comes to titling my car "what a mess" but I can relate to the relief it brings to finally get it all cleared up. Enjoy

H2E - X2, my neighbor showed me the same trick, it's a great idea ! ! ! And it works ! ! !

Well, I heard back from the DMV.
I really need some advice or guidance here guys. I seriously don't know what to do...

They said the car was reported "Destroyed", And they have "Cancelled" EVERYTHING. Plates, Tabs, Title, Registration...
How is this legal? They never even notified me.
I could have been driving this car on the road all this time and never known.

I'm furious! And I really don't know what, If anything, I can do from here.

Any advice?
Should I fight it?
