Jeremey's Ivy Green Metallic 1970 Plymouth Satellite Sport 2 Door Hardtop

and not belittling the car one bit, but it's not a 1 of 1 Hemi car,V code, etc. Is it worth the hassle ans $$ for a clean title?

What a drag this whole ordeal is turning out for you.

When you say you bought it on '12/19/2013' I'm guessing you meant 2012?

Yes. 12/19/12.

I know it's not the greatest color or performance optioned, But, It's all original and un-modified in any way that I've found. And has minimal rust. It is also a Sport, Not just a plain Belvedere.
I've been watching craigslist, And the B-Bodies just don't pop up very often. Usually just rollers or already restored and expensive cars.
It's a really tough decision, That's for sure. I still need time to think it all over.

And thanks for the support guys, Its much appreciated.

Also,
The DOL sent yet ANOTHER conflicting message today:
"Good afternoon,

Since you were the owner at the time of the incident you should not need to get an inspection done in order to replace your title, and registration plus renew your tabs.

Please take your current registration and ID with you to the local licensing office and the agent should be able to assist you.

Thank you."

I had asked if All I needed to do was an Inspection. And if I paid for new registration and tabs would that re-validate my "Old" Clean Title and Plates.
I've asked them to truly confirm this and explain the "Incident".

I asked this after seeing on my Vehicle History Reports, That it was still showing the Title from 01/02/13 as CURRENT.

I obviously wont get my hopes up. I feel like they are messing with me at this point.

just wanting to make sure you understand me...you've got a great car (especially since it's green!) as long as you can title it, even if it's a salvage title, that would be fine for me to be able to enjoy it. the salvage title wouldn't concern me unless you would be selling it. A clean title would be great. But not a must for me to drive that beauty.

X2!

Todays brief reply from the DOL:
"Good morning,

Yes you just need to go into an office and take care of getting your title, registration and current tabs.

Be sure to take your registration and ID with you."

I questioned why I need a title when it still shows the last one as current. And again asked her to explain the "Incident" she mentioned prior.

I have been waiting/wondering to hear from you as to how your situation is going. So are they going to issue you a title and will it be marked "salvage"? If you can drive it and enjoy it, I would take it and run.

I'm STILL waiting for legit answers.
I feel like I'm pulling teeth here getting information on the situation!

Last vague and brief message said the "Incident" was a Wrecker 4T Report (This does show son the history report, Now, It didn't in January 2013) and the "Current" title is "Invalidated" and a new one needs to be issued.
But,
Supposedly I don't need a Inspection again all the sudden and can walk right into the office and do all this.
Sounds an awful lot like what I did on 01/02/2013... And look where we are now...

What is wrong with these people??? They OWE me detailed, Truthful and Straight up Answers and Details. And wont seem to give me any!!!
And the only way I can seem to get in contact with the Director is if I send a written letter to a PO Box...

- JDB

I would point blank ask them "DO I GET MY TITLE, REGISTRATION, AND TAGS" so you can drive the car. I guess if you have to get one with a 4T comment but can still legally register the car, I guess that's better than throwing the $$$$$$$$$ away for what you paid for it.

I was going to check with a friend of mine that works in our DMV to see what she says you can do when I got home.

Well, The 4T/Wrecker comment is already on the Vehicle/NMVTIS History it seems. Granted this was applied well AFTER they gave me the title in My Name and Everything, For whatever reason still unknown to me...

Right now I have them saying one thing, And then saying another, And then going back to what they originally said with an exception, Then taking that exception away... I don't get it.

And that would be fantastic if you could do that, Thanks so much.
If he needs my VIN or anything to maybe look stuff up, Just let me know.

Here's one way to look at it....

Tucked away in a drawer in your house is a little piece of paper with a word on it you don't like. But out in your driveway is a pretty little Plymouth that's perfectly legal for the road and just waiting for you to drive. Car won't run or drive any different because of it. Drive the wheels off it!

I'd be sour just like you. Any way you look at it, WA State DMV gave you the hammer. Worth fighting? Probably not. But, for what you paid and what you got, you might as well enjoy the Mopar you got sitting there. Heck, people pay more for a set of cylinder heads than that and you have a cool looking, hard to find solid '70 Satty. I'd take a good look at what your end goal is with the car. Sinking 20,30,40K into restoring/modifying it, trying to flip a profit probably wouldn't out too well for you. Hard enough to do with any collector car. But, if you're looking to sink a low/moderate amount of cash in it to make a really nice satty or tribute to roll around in and enjoy, well...it's already parked out your front door.

The way I look at it, you gave the car a second lease on life. If that car would have made it to it's own stall out in the yard, it would have been gutted to nothing.

Good luck

X2 chalk it up and get out there an enjoy it. Like prop said it's just a piece of paper in a drawer that no one ever looks at

X3 - besides, if you ever decide that you do want to sell it, you'll probably put it up for sale here on the Forum, and we all know the "true" status of that car and would not even blink to buy that car . . .

so build it how you want, and drive it like it's stolen like they so often promote on this site ! !

Have fun and drive it ! ! !

It took me TWO LONG ^%$#@! YEARS to get the title for my Road Runner. I wanted the proper, legal title with the car's legitimate VIN (and no salvage title either, although that wasn't my problem).

I am really happy now, but I wasn't while I was waiting, and I thought about going the "quicker" route.

As Propwash stated very well: The only difference now is the word on the title in your drawer. I think that if you want that fixed, go for it. I am glad I stuck it out with my car. I think the key message anymore is NOTHING is ever easy, and the only way to get stuff done is to be a squeaky wheel and be a pain in someone's butt until it gets resolved. Emails are easy for DMV workers to ignore or pass off. If you want it fixed, you probably need to spend some time in someone's face politely, but firmly, demanding it get set right. It will take time, hassle, maybe some money - but I bet you can get it done.

It all comes down to what you want to do. Either choice is OK - it really depends on what you want...

My $0.02

By the way, I think it's a great car too!

Haha, Thanks hsorman.
I'm definitely gonna end up doing that at some point here. E-mail isnt getting me very far.
I'm now demanding they have the Director or someone of power contact me and make things right.

Can I just let them screw me over and accept a Rebuilt Title and be done? I suppose. That option will remain on the table I assume.
Will I accept it without a major fuss. HELL NO.
I know it's just something I HATE worded on the title, But, I have a clean title in my possession already~And I would like to keep it. Not "Exchange" it for a Rebuilt... That's silly.
They screwed me over, And they need to fix it. I can wait a couple years if that's what it takes. Yes, I'm very stubborn.

So far, I've just got an "Operations Manager" contacting Me today in regards to "Under Performing Employees" (Her words, Not mine).

ANYWAY,
It's the 1 year anniversary since I brought Her home.
Not much has changed, I haven't had time to work on her yet as you may have noticed from this thread... It's just been titling BS so far.
I had the valve covers off troubleshooting the tapping noises (Ended up being an Exhaust Manifold Leak). So I got some rubber felpro gaskets and slapped 'em on tonight.

She needs a little tlc and cosmetic work. But WOW, Is she solid... I drove around in the lot next door, And she drives pretty damn good.
I've got new neighbors. And soon as I got her running again they came out and stared for a bit, haha.

I've still never been in the trunk... I Never got a working key to it (Got 4 keys with the car, And only 1 works... Ignition Key.)
My father says the doors have a different key than the trunk. Is this correct? If so~That ruins my plans to pull a door cylinder and take it over to the locksmith and have a key made... (Well I need to do that anyway, But wont be able to use it to unlock the trunk then it seems).

I think I already asked earlier on in here, But...
What is the procedure for removing the Rear Seat? I'm going to attempt to crawl through there. Heh.

- JDB

Just "push" in at the bottom of the seat toward the back of the car. You can maybe take a flashlight and look in-between the seat and the floor and see the hooks that hold the seat in place. There are only 2 hooks holding the bottom half in place. After you get the bottom half out, then the back rest is held with 2 bolts at the bottom. 1 on each side. take those bolts out and lift the whole back part up. Let us know what "gold" you find in the trunk. Don't forget to take a screwdriver with you to pop the trunk latch from the inside.

Thanks.
It seems to be giving me trouble, It does not want to budge backwards at all on either side.
I'll go put some more muscle into and report back.

P.S. I'm not seeing a build slip when I peak under. :(
I did reach a slip of paper from a naval station dated 1988 though.

Got the seats out. Definitely been out before as the tabs were all bent.

Hit a major snag, Spare tire is mounted and blocking me from crawling through... Not to mention there is a ton of crap in there.
Any ideas?
I can see the latch and reach it with a long rod. But have no leverage.

- JDB

I agree, all that ever matters to me is whether or not I can drive it. It sucks but who cares "you've got a great car" Enjoy it and don't worry about the paper. My car has a self built title because so much of it has been replaced and I just look at it as a badge of honor haha "it's legal".
