late model hemi into early b bodies

I've narrowed it down to 18 problems, according to the diagnostic reader, and wouldn't you 17 of them dont even affect the engine. Now the 1 that does, well it's part of the trans so I guess that the converter has to go in and have some fluid in the pan. Blasted computers, damn them all to hell. but at least I now know whats up. I erased the 17 that dont matter so tommorrow I'll fire it up and see what happens.

I take it these new ones don't have the ring gear intrigal to the converter?

These are 2 seperate pieces.

Damn, this engine purrs like a kitten. I made a phone call to Chris Squire at hotautowire.com(they make the wiring harness), anyway he naiked it on the head. I had both o2 sensors hooked up and he said the 03 engines use only 1 so I diconeccted the down stream o2 and bammm, it purrs like a kitten.

Sorry about the spelling, I type slower than my brain runs.

Don't ya just love it when a plan comes together????

Glad it was somethin simple

I'm overly excited, and I didn't take any "blue pills", either.

Well I guess this means that I can get out the programer and see what it can do.

Tonight I drained the radiator. I was using distilled water and vinegar to clean out the block, and I must say it worked real well. So I refilled it with antifreeze, I'll let it run for awhile with out the cap on, then drain it again, then do the whole process over 1 more time to get out as much crap from the block as possible. Does this sound good or does anyone have a better idea?

Wellllll..........

depending on what is coming out, I'd maybe consider a back flush on the radiator as the last step. Why you may ask? Because of the possibility of the radiator getting clogged up with all the crap being flushed from the motor

but I bet you already knew that

That aint right.

Belt tensioner is clicking pretty loud so I thought I would get another one, but before I spent any $$$, I looked at the Haynes manual for Dodge trucks and found out something rather interesting. It seems that the tensioner has has 3 bosses on it to help you determine if the belt has stretched. One is stationary, and the other 2 are on the part that moves, and when you get the stationary mark and the far right mark lined up, your belt is stretched and needs replacing. Well my belt is new but it turns out that it's 2 inches to long and therefore a shorter belt is required. Now who said reading isn't fun.

I found a few belts that are the size I need, but they would have to be ordered in, and on the web, they run alittle more coin. So I'll go to the parts store tommorrow and order one.Anyone need a couple of new belts that are really long?

I don't need longer belts, I just need to drop a few pounds....

Yeah,yeah,yeah.

How did you find the Hemi? I've checked most of the wrecking yards around here and all I get is 'We get a Hemi we're keeping it" anyway maybe another year or so they'll start getting a few of them into the wrecking yards. Tomorrows another day. I'll hit a couple of yards in the area.
