late model hemi into early b bodies

Fired up my friends 5.7 in his 55 Dodge Truck... too quiet with 3" Dynomax mufflers... - fun fun fun... I wiring up my 6.1 as we speak - going to try and have the Charger on the road by mid Summer

That is sweet to hear. I also think that the Dynomax mufflers are tooooo quiet, so 50 series delta flowmasters will do the trick for me. By the way, you going to spring fling next week?

IS it possible to use the 5.7 with a 727? The reason I ask is I would like to install one in my classic Chrysler boat.

Dave

This is VERY cool
I am swapping a 5.7 and trans from a 2007 Charger R/T into a 70 GTX. I got delayed by MASSIVE rust repair and replacement but I finally got to "turn" the car on the rotisserie last week. Now we can start fitting the AlterKtion and 4 link as well as the motor and trans.
I got an entire car at an on line place called Coparts. They auction insurance totalled vehicles. This car had 20k miles on it and I drove it onto the trailer (it was hit in the rear and totalled). I will use the motor, trans, computers, bucket seats, entire brake system, and anything else that will work. I paid $6700 for the ENTIRE CAR!!!! I should be able to recoup a lot of that by parting out what is left.
Thanks for sharing this info, I was wondering about the hump mod and cross member clearance so now I have a great idea of what to look for, I know my car is differenet but not by much.
I am anxious to see the completed car, looks fantastic so far!

Hurrikain, ALL small block Chrysler trans will bolt right up to the 5.7,6.1,6.4 Hemi. There is 1 hole that is not used (top center if memory serves me ),also there is a 1/8 inch spacer plate that you gotta use, Call Dave Weber at (ModernMuscle.com) he will steer you in the right direction.

Darius, sounds like your off and running, keep us posted on the progress, I look forward to seeing some pics.

Well, the a/c adapter blocks are finished, FINALLY. My buddy at work tig welded the tube to the adapter block for me, he has about 30 years more experience than I at tig welding. The "doge house" in the trunk is fitted and doesn't look too out of place, but I have had zero time to weld it in, rugrats keep ya busy. The hood is still not not finished, but I'll try to get it done asap.

Now I was all set to get some video of the car running when i got home tonight, but as luck would have it, the damn thing had dead batteries, so I thought I'll just take some pics and post them, dead batteries again. So I go to the junk cabinet in the kitchen, and I'll be damned, NO BATTERIES! l LOOKED ALL AROUND FOR SOME AND THE ONES I STOLE FROM THE KIDS TOYS WERE NOT GOOD ENOUGH. I'LL SEE IF THE BETTER HALF CAN STOP AT THE STORE ON THE WAY HOME AND GET SOME BATTERIES! Anyone else have a good evening?

Hope everyone likes what I have done so far.

Hi, your setup look great. Very cool wheels. What or who's computer are you going to use to run the 5.7 & trans ? Can you use the stock PCM as is or due you have to adapt an aftermarket PCM. Thanks for the info.

Stock computers, could not afford to go with aftermarket ( FAST, AEM). This should do for now, cant wait to drive it.

Thanks for the compliment, I'm doing what I can when I can, 2 rugrats keeps me pretty busy.

I will say you are doing a 1st class fabrication job, everything looks top notch. Keep the pics coming. Best of luck on your project.

Yeah, hopefully my taste is not too over the top, and it should be easy on the eyes.

Just got Mopar Enthusiast, and there is a 69 Super Bee with a 5.7 Hemi, TTI headers and 2 1/2 inch exhaust, tko 600 5spd. manual, dana 60 with 3.54:1 gears and weighs in at 3700 lbs.

It ran the 1/4 mile 3 times.
1. 13.503 @100.40mph
2. 13.552 @101.46 (slicks on)
3. 13.311 @102.49

Here's what I got. 5.7 Hemi 5spd. auto, 1.5 inch manifold spacers ( makes for a longer runner and volume), TTI headers and 2 1/2 inch exhaust, 8 3/4 with 3.91:1 gears and weight should be close to stock (3200lbs.) if not a little lighter.

Is it possible that I could run quicker and faster than the Bee, given the difference with the trans gears, rear gears, and not weighing as much???? Believe me, I would not be disappointed if it ran close to or the same, this just got the juices flowing and thought that I would get some opinions on the matter.

Should finish cutting the hood for the Max Wedge scoop on Sunday. If time allows, weld in the trunk floor pan bump, but I make no promises.
