My wire harness under the hood is my stock wire harness but I cut it open and replaced much of the wires and added the wireing for the MP elctronic ign and the dual field alt. I did forget the tach wires so I had to add them later and I also added a small harness on the drivers side that I made for my electric fan. Ron

The extra holes in the head are heat risers that help in cold weather/climates. Most folks buy the valley pan that blocks them off to keep all that heat away from the carb.

Looking good. Keep it going.

I had to rewire my instrument harness after it was damaged from an engine harness short like yours. Don't cut the harness open, unwind the cloth tape (you can use it again). I had the vinyl non stick wire wrap tape so I did cut that. I only had one wire from the (ignition circuit) that was the issue. I replaced and rerouted it to prevent a reoccurrence, and used the cloth tape to rewrap it after I used new vinyl. Looks like it was never touched. There are pictures under "Steering Column getting warm" in this section. G

I just got a restoration kit from Ron Francis ordered.... I priced out the wire and the plugins compared there kit....for $300... I can't beat them.... I have a plan to do a bunch of updates also.... so the standard kit looked good to me....

Get wire by the spool in a rainbow of colors and gauge at least a gauge larger than factory and replace all the connectors drill out the firewall connector use bullets replace anything that are slightly deformed sodder heat shrink.... its a lot of work

I found the wire is so expensive to do a harness and have it in all the colors it would be twice the cost of the kits.... due to wasting wire from the rolls.... and having left overs....

I think im going with the pain less wiring , do the hole car, I talk to them q bout 2 months ago, seems like it was little less than 500 for kit,, what I need to know now is what alternater to use, electric fuel pump msd and briter lights,, thinking I can use a 100 amp? Should have asked when I had the painless guy on the phone,, heck all I was thinkln at the time was how much money!

We'll Iv had the week off. Been working my car all week off and on. Hate too bring up old post but y'all just don't know how much this has helped me , I go back to and search all the time. Because im in over my head. I started out burnt wire Here's what been done so far. Added header ,painted valve covers , aluminum water pump, clutch fan ,mopar wedge intake, new holly car ,redone the a/c lines ,air grabber breather , had to cut base of cleaner , ground the extra bolt holes on compresser ,holly fuel pump install in back Now I can fix that burnt wires. Got my under hood wire. Said that was going with painless wire no, now I read the instructions way above me. I got factory harness. Plug in, got the seats out today , got room to work. Gauges and under dash harness is where I'm at now I seen gauges on ebay that have the dash panel all together After market new gauges but don't see any that have wood grain ? What y'all think about that set up?

where the hell is everything at? in the radiator hoses?? lol
thats how i want my bay to look. very nice sir!!

Wires run through the right frame rail. There is a bulkhead on the drivers side for the starter. You can see the bulkhead between the shift cables. The rest are visible near the right side motor plate tab. Bottom picture shows where it goes through the floor into the frame rail.

My plan is...

I come from a combat aircraft background so my plan is to make all of the wiring hidden as much as possible, pretending that I don't have the room to put it in the stock areas, and I will also lock wire anything I can. I have a plan to fab some engine bay covers and firewall delete stuff, smooth out bumps and cut off wire holders etc...I hope to only be able to see the motor, headers, and wiper motor. We will see how close I come to my ideal...lol. The lock wire will be seen on the dash in spots and on a kill switch with brass wire. I intend to use dzus fasteners in many places. Going for a aircraft clean look but mean as hell and all business. I guess I miss my Apache...lol.
