Here is something you should all be aware of so you tread lightly if you post on Moparts.com
Many of you here know me from years of posting here and on other sites that we view. I am autoholic on the A12forum, have been 68hemicharger, 66 Hemi, and most resently 696pack on Moparts. My name on Moparts has changed over the years with the changes in my cars, not trying to hide anything.
I have been banned from Moparts I believe NOW for the 5th time. I have never been warned or given any reason telling me I have broken any rules, just suddenly locked out.
I have a habit of posting on subjects there that some of the membership clicke' habitually post mis-truths about what is legal and what is not. They have been working at scaring the membership with this information to satisfy and ram down the throats of others their OPINIONS on right or wrong. This typically is in regards to rebodies, the current availability of other makes complete bodies, title senerios, etc. Everyone has their OWN opinion on these subjects which is just fine with me. I have NEVER tried to sway anyone's opinion on these subjects either way. I have many times layed out both sides of the arguement from an ETHICAL standpoint. The problem I have with the clicke' on Moparts is when they try to tell people things are legal when they CLEARLY are not in MOST cases. Again it is an attempt to push things down others throats that is not correct. This is when I feel compelled to post the truth that they don't want others to known.
My most recent contoversial thread was asking questions about the Mopar Nationals OEM judging that turned into a poll asking others if they would like to see the format switched to the ICCA format. This started a large number of post by a Mopart's paying sponsor with name calling and personal attacks on me.
I continued to post with decorum, and ignoring the attacks for the most part and never responded in kind.
Suddenly I was AGAIN banned.
I emailed the site administration the following email. In fairness to him I will post ANY response word for word from him IF I get an answer.
696pack here,
Trying to view the site and it shows I am not logged in and my account is locked or banned. I can't even VIEW the forums.
What is the problem THIS time?
I have never had a warning or ever broken any site rules that I know of. One of the last posts I made was regarding the poll results of the thread that was locked. The 2nd one I posted had a few posts by others and you could tell there was an underlying feeling of prejudious toward me but I did not respond and suddenly the entire thread was gone.
I suspect that there are a few paid advertising vendors that have complained about my comments on the Mopar Nationals and asked that I be locked out. Shame on them if so. This site's DISCUSSION forum have really turned into a clicke' of "good old boys" that run things and God forbid that anyone should challenge THEIR opinions. I have had many PMs and emails from other members both past and present supporting me in my quest to make sure both sides of a story are told. You would be SURPRISED at who some of these members are. They don't rock the boat for fear of what has happened to me in the past with revoked posting priviledges. Many have left the site and I suspect more will in time because of the attitude of the clicke'
This is probably falling on deaf ears but it needs to be said.
I will not be surprised if I get no response from this as that has been the case in the past when I have been banned without warning or having NOT broken any rules.
