My 1967 Belvedere Convertible Plans and Restoration (aka - Mad Scientist Build)

Looks good 67, one less thing I'll have to figure out when I do the swap. Are you running manual or hydraulic for the clutch?

Hydraulic clutch . . .

747Mopar . . . going hydraulic . . . here's the setup I've got . . .

Guess I'll have to figure out how it's going to attach to everything . . . more fun and excitement ! ! ! ( smile )

The curious case of the missing 3rd pedal is at or near the end .. just waiting to be installed now :) Nice job Khan

LMAO Tallhair . . . only took 6 months, I'm glad to have 2-pedals . . . FINALLY ! ! ! ( smile )

I'll be doing the same so I guess I'll let you figure that out too haha, "nice looking kit".:3gears:

Congrats Khan as you always say .. that's the man pedal !

So maybe I should say The Third Man pedal (Orsen Wells ref for those following along in your IMDB study guides :) )

haha, the man pedal....Thats funny.

That stuff looks really nice there "Khan". I should have had you come do mine. I left the patina in favor of not having to remove them :p

I like that photo out on the deck and you can see the deck and the grass....its been a long time since I have seen my grass. There is between 2 and 3 feet of snowpack on top of mine....you might be driving the Belvedere before my glaciers melt.....

One note I have learned recently, when you take your car to get it painted don't take it to somebody who does it in his own shop on weekends and needs it to be warm to work on it....eta on mine is looking more like May now.....ugh

Hell yeah nice looking setup man! I'm looking forward to seeing how the install and everything goes, might have to follow your lead whenever I finally get around to giving frankenstein a "man pedal" lol

Thanks everyone . . . finally got it all figured out . . . but just remember guys . . .

More important than the "man pedal" is the "make noise" pedal ! ! !

"Khan"-vertible ... I love it !!!!

Nice one brother and I know you'll be using both those pedals before we all know it ... just keep on keeping on with the progress :)

Who did you go through for the clutch 'linkage'? That's one of my next steps as well...

Herr_Poopschitz . . . I got my whole clutch and linkages as a package deal - It can be purchased through Summit Racing.

My next battle is to get the pedal assembly, clutch cylinder, and all the linkages back in the car and hooked up - while the dash is out and I have room to work. I'll be posting pictures of my work and my progress.

My NOR/AM quarter panel return - you're going to love this . . .

Now I get to fill you in on all the details of the Nor/Am quarter panels return . . . this is priceless . . .

So, like most of you, I'm trying to get parts, as I can afford them, and have them on hand for when I need them. So I ordered the driver side panel in July, and the passenger side panel in January. And when I pulled one out to compare the panel, they were not even close to the existing quarter panel. So I contact the seller, and inform them of the lack of quality - and they tell me to return them for a full refund.

GREAT ! ! !

Then I get another E-mail back from them stating that since one of the panels was bought in July, they would not be able to refund me the money for that panel. I write them back, telling then that they need to consider that we're trying to work on these cars and buy parts as we can afford them so we have them when we need them. I send them two pictures of the body panels, and how badly theirs matches the original body panel - and I get this response:

FROM NOR/AM - Hello, I have looked at both pictures. Your temp let doesn't fit either part. I will create a UPS return shipping label now, once the passengers side quarter panel I will refund you money in full. Sorry for any confusion.

So, since both of these panels are of no use to me, and I read that they were going to refund my money in full - I thought, let's be a "nice" customer, and return
both panels to them ( after all they refund all my money, they should get all the parts ).

So I get an E-mail from Amazon today that claims that both panels were received damaged ( they were in perfect shape when they left me house - UPS picked them up at my doorstep ). So the (2) panels that I bought for $140 each ( $280 worth of parts ) . . . they now say that they only agreed to allow me to return (1) panel, the passenger side panel. And since the panels are damaged, they're applying a credit of $70 to my credit card.

Also, in the E-mail they say they never agreed to return both panels, and if I want the driver side panel back I'll have to pay shipping - on their website they charge $100 to ship the panels . . . I think I'll pass on that . . . SHEEEESH ! ! ! !

Customer service at it's best ! ! !

What a hosing, did the shipping company (ups, usps etc) have insurance on the parts? Most automatically have $100.00. Man I really feel for you, what a bunch of B.S. I know what it's like to scrape together every penny you can get to keep the parts coming and to have a company basically bend you over and rip you off like that would have me boiling:angryfire:

That's brutal,

Any way to escalate it internally or maybe notify the bbb (always good to notify them you'll be doing that first)

Any pics of just before you sent them to prove they weren't damaged?

Man sorry to hear it. What ever happened to morales!

IMO, the definite worst part about restoring a car is not metal slivers in your hands, weld spatter burning holes in your skin, breathing in rust and smashing your fingers....By far the worst part of it is dealing with dishonest crappy vendors, hands down.

Best of luck conv67.

AMEN....very true Prop.

I hope you can get it sorted out. I'd at least call up someone and beat them up verbally to make myself feel better :p

Wow.. that's enough to make ya blow a head gasket. Bummer to hear you're going through such BS, I'm with everyone in saying I hope you can get it all sorted out

Thanks guys for you support on this disaster . . . UGH . . .

I sent a response back to the company, explaining my thoughts and good intentions - once the package left my house, it was out of my hands - the damage done by UPS should be settled with UPS, not penalize me for their lack of care and concern on package delivery. Oh well . . .
( If you'd like to read the letter, I can PM you the letter I sent - thought it was best not to post it here )

I've posted my dealing with the company here - to warn everyone and on Amazon Prime - gotta love the ability to have your say on the internet in this day and age.

I'll be awaiting their response to my E-mail and see if they reconsider their position and current position on providing Customer Service.

I'll keep you posted . . .

OH - - - are we having fun yet ? ? ( SMILE )

This winter has been unreal . . .

Here's what Mother Nature has dealt us . . .

sm_snow.jpg

This is the result of about 6-8 inches of snow, followed by a "wintery mix" ( sleet and rain basically ), then freezing temps, which now has a crust of ice on top of the snow. And it currently raining/sleeting now, with the forecast for more snow later . . .

Oh boy, this is really going to get FUN down here . . . wish us all luck ! ! !
