My 1967 Belvedere Convertible Plans and Restoration (aka - Mad Scientist Build)

Hydraulic clutch connection . . . continued . . .

Still trying to figure out how to get the hydraulic clutch setup installed . . .

Got the master installed . . .

sm_clutch1.jpg

However - if I use the existing hole in the clutch pedal for the connection - I've got a bit of a mismatch on the alignments . . . 2 views . . .

sm_clutch2.jpg.sm_clutch3.jpg

Still doing my homework on this one . . .

I think with all the surgery and cleaning up your doing in the engine compartment I'd just put it exactly where it needs to be to be (just another hole to fill). Sucks to hear they're still d#cking you around.

Updates on things . . .

Nor/Am return - actually heard back from Amazon today, and I'll be getting another $70 credit to my card . . . so I basically got a refund on one of the panels, and then I got to eat the $140 for the other panel ( which I shipped back cause he said he was going to refund me in FULL ) . . . but, even if he didn't, I didn't need it taking up sape in my shop so I probably would have shipped it back to get rid of it . . . so it's gone. And I guess it's a done deal now.

1966 Shoebox - pulled apart the driver side suspension, pulled all the bushings out of the control arms, and replaced them with new Moog bushings. Was going to let the shop press them out and back in, but decided to try and tackle it myself - wasn't too bad. The driver side is all back together with new bushings now. Trying to get them out of the idler arm now and get them replaced. Then the passenger side. Trying to get this all done before the show season begins so I can drive it while working on the Belvedere ! !

I was beginning to think the exact same thing 747Mopar . . . and a little more welding practice to boot ! ! !

Glad to hear you're seeing a bit of satisfaction from the Amazon end... still sucks having to eat the $140 but at least word is out now not to deal with that seller.

Damn that man pedal assembly looks awesome, I'm jealous of all you guys that get to bang gears!

Sucks that seller still sorta stiffed you but glad you got some more denero's back! This was probably how it went down when he got word from amazon you filed a complaint

Great idea to get the shoe box on the road for fun while your working on the belle .. you'll be able to have fun with a car instead of all work .. although we obviously like working on the old cars or we wouldn't be here right hehehe. Really bums me that you got some a bum deal on bad parts ..

what is the name of that POS company again ?????

X-2 That says it all! and its fun!! :)

Best one of all those after series show!

Thanks guys . . . not much I can do now, but I'll bet the guy was really PO'd when he heard back from Amazon and discovered it was me AGAIN ! ! But, lesson learned, I bought the second panel after never verifying the fit of the first - just did a very quick glance and all looked well. At least I got half my money back instead of a quarter of it ! !

Speedy - I was trying to find a clip of Captain Kirk telling Scotty "We need more power Scotty", and Scotty replying "Captain, I'm giving 'er all she's got !" for your thread . . . but I couldn't find one on youtube that was even close . . . but I tried . . .

Spent tonight working n the Shoebox - got the UCA off, bushings out, and ready to go back together . . . as wll as half of the idler arm - could not, for the life of me, get the bushing out of the dumb arm ( think I spent 2 hours working on it alone ) - and 1 hour pulling the entire UCA, and pulling the bushings . . . oh well . . . back together tomorrow, then the LCA . . . oh, and the other half of the idler arm ? ! ? ! ? UGH ! ! !

The company name was Nor/Am . . . in case you missed it . . .

My best scene, might help! :)

Glad you got your money back for the one panel but sorry you got screwed on the second one.

I'd definitely put that master cylinder where it belongs instead of in that exiting hole. I would have expected to see a pamphlet or something with it that said where the new hole would need to go. Also note to self, once you get the trans in the car and connect everything with the hoses I would make sure you take it back apart and bench bleed the system all assembled. (ie master cyl, hose, slave cyl). The problem with those is the orientation of the master cylinder traps bubbles of air in the master instead of encouraging them to come out. Went through bleeding mine 4 times to get it perfect but also ended up having an issue with rod length (not a custom adjustable master like yours).

Yeah I'd be yelling it from the rooftops in big bold letters every time you mention the frustration so it's clear who it is and if anyone else thinks of doing business with them

Parts delivery . . .

Got home to a box sitting on the front steps . . .

Was a little worried after opening the outer box to see this on the inner box . . .

sm_hemiwaterpump1.jpg

But I inspected the water pump - especially the area that would have poke through the box - and all looks to be just fine.

sm_hemiwaterpump2.jpg

I did not like the fact that the old water pump had all the white residue, all initiating from the pulley seal area . . . safer ( and easier ) to replace it now.

Need I say more ? ? ? ?

Good to hear your having some fun with the shoebox and will have it to enjoy this Spring instead of it being all work and no play. I was about to PM you to see what's been going on but now I know, good luck and I'll be waiting to see you getting back to the 67.

Me too 747Mopar . . . Need to get back to the clutch master cylinder . . .

I'm actually trying to work both of them at the same time, just stuck on time intensive stuff (bushing removal) on the shoebox right now. Making good progress on it:
Both uppers are done and re-installed in the car.
Driver Lower is done and re-installed in the car, passenger lower is removed ( need to press out bushing, and press new one in )
Idler arm - one bushing is removed, new one needs to be pressed in - one on the steering linkage still needs to be done.
Hope to have it wrapped up this weekend - or take the parts to someone to remove the old and press in the new ( if needed )

Love it!!!!!! :rolling::hello2: Glad that someone (dog) decided to try doing something about this "Global Warming" BS.

LMAO 69Charger RT/SE - It was just too good not to share !

Music time . . .

Really enjoy the blues delivered by Stevie Ray Vaughan . . .

Enjoy . . .

Bushings all replaced . . .

Got all the bushings replaced in the Shoebox - got most of the car put back together - just need to button it up and get an alignment !

Got to spend some time looking at the Belvedere - Not a whole lot of room in the engine compartment for me to move the Clutch master cylinder around - stll doing my research on the clutch set up - hope to have something figured out soon . . .

I'm back on the Belvedere . . . time to rock an roll . . . ( smile )
