My 69 Road Runner

Good luck with your transportation issues. Look at @dadsbee picture with the crossed straps. That is a necessity.

Also, don't forget to put foam or rags or some kind of protection between all seams like doors, hood and trunk (especially the trunk) . Without weatherstripping they will rattle around and chip the paint on the edges (ask me how I know ).

Looks great so far!

After spending all that money on paint and driving the car on the road. Now have three rock chip's on my hood thanks to a trucker hauling a cement tank on a low boy. I heard the noise tink tink. My worst fear's where realized once home. Now trying to touch up those spots are not going good. So if you dirve it guess those things are going to happen. Looking good on the car their and wish you the best. On the cost we just bite the bullet and move on and enjoy the car after it is finished.

The old girl is B5 blue again. Stopped over to help him get the decklid bolted on. Been a good year since it has had paint on it. I am really liking the new PPG hue compared to the Martin Senior that was on it. The PPG Deltron is a more vibrant color.

Oh boy that look's grate. Yes the PPG paint's are a much better choice. I will never buy the Martin Senior again. Painted a truck some year's ago with it and was not happy with it. Now go to a local auto paint store and have sprayed the Acrylic paint on my truck. So far so good. The senior paint faded pretty fast. Think it is cheap.

Fairly certain this dash has never been out of the car until now. 15 years ago I put on a new pad, painted the switch panel, sent the gauge cluster to Auto Instruments, and spray bombed the front of the frame while it was still installed. The switch panel and cluster still look good, so I am just going to reinstall them.

This car had been raced early in its life. Not really sure why so many extra holes were on the bottom flange of the frame, must have had all kinds of gauges. Welded them up.

Blasted clean and coated in black epoxy.

Painted with the custom mix I had made up for dashes and steering columns, and put back together.

I've been making dual speaker mounts out of plexiglass and painting them black.

Thanks to Jack L. (a member on here) for sending me a few rivets for the ashtray. Not once, but twice, because the first envelope apparently was lost in the mail. Both times he wouldn't take any money and proves that there are some great people on this site. I ended up buying the dies even though he volunteered to let me borrow his. I cleaned and painted the tray with the other pieces. Just some aluminum paint for the inside piece, which works in my world for a part that is out of sight in a driver. Turned out nice I think.

Great work. My 64' Sport Fury was raced for half of her life, and there were so many cuts and holes in the dash I ended up having to find a replacement!

Beautiful work......attention to detail really shows when all said and done

Great story on the buddy seat . I have the buddy seat and the correct bucket seat brackets on my 67 Charger. Looks like you are taking all the right steps to get the car how you want it. Good for you.

Nice lawn, did you use Scott's?
Lol, I really don't know as the wife takes care of that. Drives me nuts. She keeps putting all this stuff of the lawn and it grows like crazy. Just more work for me as I have to mow twice as much as I used to. But she is happy, and that is what's important, right?

Thanks. Yes making it the way I want it to be as I really enjoy this car.

Gor it loaded up and made the trip back home. Always a good feeling at this point.

Holy crap that is nice!! You must be psyched.
Yes, I'm glad it is back home. Got to find time to spray the behind the grill blackout and undercoat in the front wheel well area. Then start putting it back together.
