my 70 barn find

USARR,

I have been lurking but finally got a chance tonight to read through your entire thread. I love the plans you have for your car and it is looking great so far! Keep up the good work.

For the "C" word: There is a new class of cancer drugs that are coming out that have some great promise. One of the first is called MK-3475 and its indication is for melanoma. Your body normally attacks and kills any offending things that get in your body. But cancer hides itself and the body does not recognize it as a problem. The key with these new drugs is that they do nothing to attack cancer. All they do is "unmask" it so you body then fights it at the cellular level. They have shown some amazing results, and my hope is that a few years from now these will be standard practice.

At any rate, keep up the good fight and kick that cancer's ***. If it is stubborn, do some research on some of these new cancer drugs (I think they are typically called PD-1 drugs). I also mention this for any other member who are fighting this horrible disease.

Kick cancer's ***, then drive that beautiful Mopar like you stole it!!!

All the best,

Hawk

Exactly, that is the way they are supposed to be used. If you look inside any newer cars like the Dart my brother is working on that's what they have "a circuit board with many LED's".

That's a very good point too 747 Mopar . . . but, it would depend on the "type" of LED lights that you get too . . .

LED can be very directional - as is the case with ones like these . . .

Or they can be "mostly" directional, like these, but shed some light to the sides ( notice the shape difference from above )

Or they can be set up, like these, to assist with shedding light in many directions . . .

Here's a pic of some LEDs that I have in the ShoeBox . . . No doubt that you can tell that I'm stopping . . . ( or backing up )

NOTE: If you do get LED bulbs for your car, then you may find out that your flashers no longer work - that's because the LED draw far less amps and don't allow the element in the flasher to heat up and disconnect.

SOLUTION: Buy an electronic flasher unit, they are made for LED bulbs and work with the LEDs and don't depend on amp draw and heat to cause the flash.

ALSO: Electronic flashers are directional, they must be hooked up properly to work. When I got mine, it did not work, called the company and they wanted to sell me $5.00 polarity swapping plug - All I did was pull the pins from the plug, and reverse them - everything worked great !

Those look pretty good Kahn. That article I read could have been old enough that they didn't have all those fancy options (definitely not the circuit board).

"as goon would say those pedals are fer racing...lol."

Yer Damn Right! lol Those LED circuit boards are awesome and if I'm correct I believe they can also be programmed to light a certain way (i.e. the Led's light in succession from left to right when making a right turn)... obciously FER RACIN!!

Yup they can... found me a viiiii deeee oooo! lol

I installed the digitails on my 70 GTX. They went in easy and work just fine, although I have a completely different wiring harness. I have read where they can be problematic on the old stock wiring/power systems. A relay perhaps?? Anyway, lots of comments on the sequential turn signals!

mopar theropy 101, got back to the evil scowl. got the whole motor wired up and computer mounted, starting to get the new car wiring harness all routed thru the car. got the aluminum radiator mocked up and got to get the brackets welded on then can mount that into position. got the new gen pistol grip in with my new hurst 40% redution short throw shifter. this thing is badass. shifts smooth as hell.got the steering linkage hooked up and got the lokar dipstick in, perfect fit. my big hold up so far is the driveshaft. still have to find someone that can make this work for me. :beavisnbutthead:

with my extra time on my hands i sat down here and got to be naming peoples cars, i know to much time sitting around but i had to come up with something...lol

conv67bdere...KHAN-VERTIBLE i think tallhair came up with this...classic

hunt2elk...THE BLACK MIRROR... wasnt hard for me to come up with this one

hyrdgoon...522 built FER RACING...a goon original lmao

747...THE ORANGE GODDESS

and mine EVIL SCOWL hope to be on the street soon. it wont look pretty but it will be driveable.

I want a name for mine! I've been thinking of calling it "The Time Machine", since it's taking me so much time to do.

LMAO, How long have you had it? I've had mine 10 yrs but just started getting busy on it in the last 3. Now that I'm driving it I'm loving it.

So wiring it up....pretty straight forward or kind of a pain in the rear? Keep up the good work!

we drilled a hole right behind the motor to hide it and ran all the connections we needed under the intake and had everything plugged in about 15 min. then mounted the computer on pass side and plugged those 3 plugs in. we still got to wire up gauges and the new car harness. im trying to run that thru the frame up front so you cant see nothing. the harness i got thru modern muscle but it was made by hotwire. it was $1k but had the motor wired up in less than an hour, well worth the money in my book. i was impressed how easy and every wire is detailed an labeled, it cant get any easier than this. im gonna get drive shaft ordered the first of next week, hopefully get brake lines and start welded the ol girl back together.

Your going to have a sweet ride when your done!!! Id love to see those tail lights in action myself! Keep on keepin on man, I can hear her roar from hear :)

hot dam this chemo stuff is working, dr. called me and told me it was shrinking. needless to say i kinda partied it up that night. im pretty happy, now i just got to get this car running. here is a pic of the driveshaft being built. 4 week build time. 3.5 inch aluminum bench tested at 9600rpm. heading down tomorrow to get some work done on her.

I think once you're done, we should street test that 9,600rpm limit in high gear!!

Great news USA, glad to hear your kicking it's butt. Sounds like good news on the car too, I'll be waiting to hear it run.
