my 70 barn find

finally.....got a chance to go down to my buddys shop and we got some things done today. drop the tank, dropped the motor and tranny with the k-member, had to do some repair on the old girl, get engine bay cleaned up a little, and start mocking up the alterktion kit. hopefully get to get down there in a couple of weeks and drop the motor in and mock up the tranny. will keep ya posted. the evil scowl will come back to life...:beavisnbutthead:

Glad to see that you found some time to get to the SHOP USARR . . . I hate when work gets in the way of our fun ! !

You already got the old brackets removed to be able to get the AlterKtion up in place - how easy/difficult was that process ? ?

Man is that thing looking SWEET ! ! ! Love it . . . I'm still leaning toward the AlterKtion myself, so I'm interested in your build and your thoughts . . .

Thanks for keeping us all posted with your progress ! ! ! ! !

drilling out the welds to remove the bump stop brackets, not to bad. so far this alterktion kit is BILLY BAD ***. its everything they said it is. still got to put the power rack on. the rearend is sent out to strange, once we get the motor in then find out about the tranny, then figure out how to route everything. try to hide things. we will see long way to go. i dont think anyone will be disappointed in the alterktion, the powder coat is beautiful, the coilovers and power rack look sweet...so far very happy!!!!!!! here are a few pics of my buddys handy work, just finishing up on 70 ss chevelle 396 vert.

Nice to see you getting some work done on her, I'm patiently waiting to see this go together. Like the daughters car "I wanted one but had to get a Cruze because I couldn't find a totaled Dart" maybe next time. Now You got a long list of things to install "good luck".:evil5:

yeah 67 when you go to order it MODERN MUSCLE told me about 3 week turnaround. yes MM worked with me on shipping and got the alterkation a little cheaper not putting it on the card.

got these parts today, damm i think they look pretty nice. tti ceramic coated headers....:beavisnbutthead:

Did you also get the TTI Headers from Modern Muscle? I heard they were the cheapest re-seller but I get confused when I add a coating (i.e. ceramic coated-thermal barrier) and the price doesn't change? at the other retailers that usually a plus $100-150 option. Of course I'm doing this online did you call everything in?

BTW some motivation for you :)

that color is growing on you a little isn't it goon :)

I have no idea what you're talking about! But I bet that car would look awesome with a black engine bay! lol

Damn that '70 is clean! Hey usa did you ever decide 100% on green vs purple? Glad to hear the alterktion is going good, between that and the writeup in this month's Mopar Muscle on em, I think I got the alterktion bug haha. Maybe one day

im leaning towards viper snakeskin green, with the satin black hood and side stripes and some lil extras. it will be a one of one for sure. might go with the brushed trim look instead of chrome. we will see. thanks for all the pics an encouragement.

The brushed trim look is growing on me with the pics I've seen in 747's thread I think it was

I think the Snakeskin is a great color. A 70 Charger was painted that and brought to a local car show near me last summer. It really stood out from the other cars next to it.

does anyone know off hand if there is a set of wheels like these, 17's and 18's

American racings Salt Flats are close.VN470580XX_american_racing_hot_rod_gray_vn470_salt_flat.jpgVN327870XX_american_racing_hot_rod_gray_vn327_rally.jpg

Not really close like these, but the Hammer uses Kinesis K19 wheels, 18x10 on the front and 19x12 on the rear. The tires are 295 on the front and 345 on the rear...
