My 72 Coronet Project Empty Wallet

If you fully restore it to stock, dealership condition, I bet everybody at every car show will turn their heads. I know I would, it looks like a really different car compared to the camaro, mustang, and occasional charger of the average car show. Even if you go the racy lowered look the car will always look great :)

I'd like to raise the rear an inch when I replace the rear springs. Some stuff will be stock but I'm gonna build it the way I want. I gotta be different.

I haven't posted any pics in a while so here goes. Finally I got the steering column in. After 2 tries it's in correctly.

You have the exact same dash as I have, AC, multiplex AM/FM radio, and clock.
Looks good!!

Except for the clock, which my car does not have, the 74 Dodge Coronet dash looks the same.

Yeah clock was optional, I need to take my dash back out someday and fix mine so it works.

I have my 8 tracks and players restored through barys 8 track repair... and amp repair center has my Rockford fosgate punch 150... even players that are nos are going to need service and the tapes need splicing and pads to work. I bought it all off e bay and didn't expect mutch once it's been sorted out I'll have 2players and 200 tapes for around $1500 total investment... I'm useing a motorcycle antenna line output rca adapter and plyle gear speakers and fat wires all around I have noise suppressor on the power leads and on the ignition..... I wouldn't have gone 8 track if I didn't have doubles and a service center.... something to think about.

Nice job, nice car....SCREW 4dr HATERS...Our 4 drs. will go anywhere a 2 dr. can............

Went for a drive today. Finally back on road since February. Had to order an ashtray light harness. The wire on mine was broken inside the light housing :)

Cool, now it's a driving project, that's the way I like mine, so you can enjoy it.

The clock second hand turns but the hour and minute hands don't turn. I had it working but now not so much. Also for some reason the ac vents are blowing very hot air only when the vehicle is moving. Not when stopped. My son and I have been working cleaning the garage up. I want to get the car back in the garage. Got to figure out what is up with the heater' The dash guage and oil light problem is fixed. I had the round pin connector that plugs into the back of instrument cluster off by 2 pins. Still can't figure out how I did that. I've got to shim the plate under the driveshaft. The driveshaft yoke keeps hitting it as it goes around.

Hope nothing is loose, You have your dash looking like new, very nice!!!

Possible vacuum line somewhere leaking, collapsing going to the vent controls, check the lines real good for cracking near the firewall and at the back of the manifold.

I think I've got the a/c vents blowing hot air figured out. I found the vacuum lines from the vacuum line block that plugs into the heater switch and go to the large fresh air vent door. I put my vacuum pump on the lines and figured out wich one closed the door and which vacuum line closed it. There were no vacuum leaks to the door and it operated fine. So I found the vacuum line comming off the engine and plugged it into the port. Took It for a ride and was still getting hot air out the vents. I plugged it into the other vacuum line and ureka no hot air going down the road. So I left the vacuum line I made plugged into the engine manifold vacuum source and also into the line that holds the fresh air door closed. So I can at least drive the car until I can take the switch out without being in a blast furnace.

My buddies 73 green 4 door Coronet back in the day, would cook you out of the car in the coldest of winters. So, is it a bad switch, or just hooked up wrong?

Took her out on a drive today. Went to Sonic and got some slushy drinks. Then drove up to Weeki Wachee. Yes that is the name of the town. Drove around for about two hours. The puddles in frond of the car are not mine. They were there already.

Nothing better than getting out there and driving your project as much as you can, it's what it's all about, makes everything worth it.
