How do i hook the new alternater up to the old wiring? I'm going to have to get that plug

Ok on the by pass just find a molded hose at your auto parts store with a bend so it won't kink ! The alt you should be able to put the old alt in that bracket so you can use your current harness .
I'm in FL so we don't hook up elc chokes
But I'd assume it gets power 24-7 and has a temp sensor in it to open and close as needed but I could be wrong!

On the kick down I've never had a cable style but should be about the same get it where there's a little slack when closed test drive if it shifts good and kicks down good leave it if it shifts to fast or to slow you need to move it around can't think witch way for witch but you'll figure it out !

For the choke you want 12v key on run position. The throttle cable bracket you will need to modify to mount to the magnum intake and square it up to the carb. There is a Chrysler bracket available for the carb and I recommend you get one so the throttle pressure linkage works correctly. Looks like you have cruise too.

Didn't even see the mechanical linkage stuff assumed he had a cable forgot all about cruise control !

So I'm connecting here to here just to be sure? Seems like we're bypassing the thermostat.

What do I call the part that screws in to the intake manifold

Jonathan,
I just finished reading thru your posts. You are one positive individual. A lot of people would have given up on this car at the first hint of disappointment. You, Sir, chose to dig your heels in and fight back tooth and nail. There are not a lot of your type left in this world so a huge Pat On The Back is what I am giving you. Soldier on my friend with your attitude good things are sure to come your way.

I looked for a PDF version of the catalog listed below but couldn't find one. Not saying it isn't out there, I just couldn't find it.

As for the parts catalog, here is one hard copy: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1974-ORIGINAL-MOPAR-CAR-NOS-PARTS-DEALER-CATALOG-74-CHRYSLER-DODGE-PLYMOUTH-BOOK/363014689415?fits=Year:1974|Model:Charger&_trkparms=ispr=1&hash=item54855c9287:g:BxEAAOSw1uxe25kb&amdata=enc:AQAFAAACcBaobrjLl8XobRIiIML1V4Imu%2Fn%2BzU5L90Z278x5ickkBSh1VzQSTzkTiSV5EE%2FHQfg2cErkvrlcqAPYZM2mi6sSpyQgxy1hu9Aoj4j52D6Sua2Ymweyrl6jaLWZZ7zpGojWdY7C3%2Fu8iHZAUoXxGtzqJvmB3IRZhQxM%2FbiFt2Ym9lA%2B7FOZpcixL2s1XXQE8Ue7DDE4PYqIQ04EuY5f2SKl8tQYGpnQTCiJN7Mi%2FQYLyaXPCGpKBQCm%2BM1yjiRTDE5XR0tMJwlaElavdBj%2BbB9j8ChLzyGX8vG30xBAu1%2BYzDFnAkZO4qmPNpCJS5zXAiVMQQ3bz%2BfrN2Hx6Iji58iOlP1Y9HWwOva8tCG5uO%2FT8%2Fgj8Fdm5rKEzYSg1rYlGk7cB8BE8QHSbJ%2BJui6VEQXTRFYeVM76OGq20ZA0fHlcxAs5HWjMYEdSZwvnBzY6%2F8RuYvbWPxaFRi5L5DjFF4XAk6NOl3Ofhs2XF7qgRpOKvhBCQKJoVs8U8gkpwSosyuZcYOF2K7t2Rjk2EhwBFBgkT3jz1tQ4Re9XyihpITGCm7AuSb0L2Us0b9GNzh81WheGv3jRb6a1NfmXPb7Mvn5y2zCMGLH%2BQI09ThpOuiaNSJZo7lZVSr9I%2BgnLHZBeURPvePNVtupsBhs6Q87YzFb1vPoxfufeTgLMypODnRK9tbJ7m25velwqSQ%2BR%2BwM5FocoozO0Jfzl7nxg5qfyeNud0xjtvEXCHww53JzMGrOeVWfmSn7kvqdYo71eXNqmhBhV2L%2FrbySoSACRPopF9wLuyQI0a7ew89dHA9AyTnj0YCM2QHRVUhZP5L4nWyio5w%3D%3D|cksum:3630146894155cb8d1b2e0704946b5ff882610a7834d|ampid:pL_CLK|clp:2334524

I dont think the pully is going to swap over on the alternater...

If pully won't swap maybe go see an alt shop and tell them you need the back of one front of other they could probably just switch the case on the rear of the newer style

The old alternater is completely different. Mounts pullys and wires

Can I use the new alternater and just wirer it up the the old regulater

20200811_081347.jpg 20200811_081345.jpg

Does that new alt have an internal voltage regulator ? That might cause an issue if not I guess just find that plug and wire it up
