Ok, with the new Camaro, and the new Challenger, for me, it's one of the two. The new Mustang looks nice, but, it's way down on power, and I'm not really a Ford guy, nice vehicles, but, never been there. So, the Camaro SS has power on par with the SRT8 Challenger, but, the Challenger costs about 8K more than the SS! The RT Challenger with nice options is about the same price as the 1SS, but with less power.

Overall, the Challenger looks far better than anything out there. However, the Camaro's new looks outside is very appealing, but the interior is not much to my liking; but, I could learn to love it I suppose.

I think the RT Challenger is right on, but, with the new SS I just don't know.

Yeah....I think it kinda bites that the Camaro is a lot less money than the Challenger. I own a S-197, so I know what it drives like. I've driven an R/T with a stick and like it better than the S-197. Haven't driven a Camaro so I have no opinion to give there.

Get the Hurst Edition Challenger. Collector car and gobs of horsepower.

I really like the white/gold Hurst car, but I hate the layout of the puffer. On the other hand, the one that SMS is using is totally bitchin! Resembles the new Edelbrock for the 3 valve Fords

I haven't see that one.

personally it's challenger all the way. ever since i saw the camaro i didn't like it, it just looks like they tried too hard and i don't think that i came out quite right. The Challenger though looks like it always has, sleek and stylish, it looks like the old and performs like the new. What i'd personally do is buy a new challenger classic. Man what cool cars, they are on the expensive side but you get the nice wheels, R/T stripe and retro challenger emblems, i think they look so cool, here's a pic if you've never seen one.

I like the looks a lot better over the other others

I sat in a Hemi Orange R/T wiith leather that a Dodge dealer had on their used lot. It was almost a religous experience. Would have been all over it, but they still wanted like 37k. Definitely get a Challenger. A R/T is a good deal, compared to the SRT. They are just too proud to that thing.
Chevrolet did do it smart and when they started selling the new camaro, they made all models available, like what Ford did with the Mustang, which boosted their sales.

I never got pasted the windows but they know I was there. I drooled over the windows

I was a Mopar guy from way back, my first car was a 64 Polara 500, I also do not like the Chevy Camaro, I do like the Challanger but they are all a little to much. The Mustang is a lot cheeper. I have a 06 V-6 and it is only about 50 HP under the V-8. and a lot less insurance money.
this is whats in my garage.:HappyNewYear:

Can't say the V6 is a lot less than the V8 on insurance. I had an '01 V6 5 speed that I got rid of in favor of my '05 GT 5 speed. My insurance went up a whopping $72 a YEAR. Lady told me that on the phone and I just laughed and said "You're not helping to talk me out of this"

I like my S-197 quite a bit. But if the Challenger had been available when I bought it, I would have bought the Challenger instead.

I've seen one in black(like BuckNekkid's) and one in B5 Blue recently, and had a cargasm both times. Love the new Challenger! Really like the Mustang as well;great retro styling cues, incorporated well. The Camaro looks cartoonish IMHO;even the Pontiac/Trans Am variations don't make my willy tingle-the Challenger does.

I have always been a MoPar fan, never owned a Chevy, had a few non muscle/Mustang Fords, and have owned a Chrysler product every chance i could. My parents have owned nothing but Chrysler products.

I work for a Automotive Marketing company. We make websites and handle most everything dealeing with a car dealer, inventory, user accounts, domains etc. Irronically our biggest contract is with GM.

I am in tech support, but there are Sales guys and account advocates that deal with the dealers directly, so they get percs, like a car to drive sometimes. Occasionally a new car will show up in the parking lot.

I havent driven a new Challenger, or a Charger, but have seen them at the drag strip, sat in one, it was comfy, but expensive. And there is a blue Challenger that shows up in the parking lot every now and then, and amazingly the next day there are new black streaks in the parking lot.

There are always a few Mustangs in the lot, and i have driven one of them, they always seem well put together.

A few weeks ago a new Red Camaro showed up. Gm marketed the heck out of it, and i have seen a few on the road, but this is the first close look i got.

It looked like doo doo, the interior was plain and the body looked cheap, wasnt impressed. Like Al K says above, they do look cartoonish. Not impressed, plus they have been having issues, i think they reclled a bunch due to transmission issues.

What exactly is the S-197 model?
