Not the official weather thread.....

It's been a few years, but I remember!!!
Life's full of pros and cons!
Lol. I just wish it would stay below freezing. Makes plowing tough and everyone just gets sick from the dampness..

We're in that pre-storm weather pattern. The winds are gusty and swirling and we know a big snowstorm is coming.

currently calling for 8-12 here in western MD...but we'll see.

Got the snowblower fueled up, with another tank or 2 in the fuel can.
Got the snow fence posts up; fence will go up tomorrow am
Grand Cherokee diesel is at 1/8 tank, gonna fill that before work.
Wrangler is at 1/4 tank, gonna fill that on the way to work today.
Plenty of people food; plenty of dog food.

Bring it.

I don't really do all this prep work for me...I do it because of the other morons out there. I'll still go out and play in the snow in one or the other of the Jeeps...but I don't want to HAVE to get anywhere, because the morons will be out in force.

Which reminds me, I need to put a snatch-strap in the Wrangler...easy way to make a couple bucks

Still can’t snowmobile in WI or the U.P. MI

Just had the warmest December on record - Think about that

Warmest November and December ever here, very little snow. January started off super warm but next week we get down in the mid minus thirties without counting the pussy windchill, and that is approximately our normal temp for this time of year.
I don’t mind not having the cold but we need snow. Great Slave Lake is 450 miles long and a hundred miles wide and is the lowest it has EVER been. We simply need the water. Beyond winter we need rain in the summer or there will be more disastrous fires, and we’ve had enough of those to last us a while.

It got into the mid 40's here,
clear skies & teeshirt weather in Tuolumne Co.
down in the 20's at night of late, burrrrrrr
supposed to warm up to low 30's tonight
lots of frost & ice
& 50*s tomorrow & supposed to be more rain,
instead of snow (just dustings really so far)
we still need it, keep our lakes full
most of the snow levels will still be above 5,000-6,000 ft,
but here it comes as far down, as to the 2,000-2,500 ft levels

Western South Dakota and it has snowed twice, only needed a shovel once. $50 heat bills. Made it nice for house training a puppy

6-9” predicted here Saturday night into Sunday, then 50’s and rain predicted for Wednesday.

So winter is back. After the previous warm temps this feels even worse then it is.
This is the approximate temperature where things go wrong: your battery is dead
because you forgot to plug in so you go to boost it.Your hand freezes trying to find the hood latch.
You can’t remove the red plastic cover from the battery positive because it is frozen hard. When you do remove it your tightly coiled cheap booster cables shatter. When you get in to turn the key the door won’t stay closed
because the grease has solidified and the seat is hard as a rock. But you can’t get in anyway because your five foot tall wife has the seat all the way forward and it won’t slide back in the cold.
You’re an hour late for work by this time and when the motor does finally start it sounds like someone
shaking a can of spray paint.
I’ve been home for two weeks and am looking forward to returning to Mexico already.

This is Yellowknife’s forecast for the mid week. That’s without figuring in the pussy windchill, and Yellowknife has few trees to block the wind. Our trees may be burned and dead but at least lots of them are still standing.

We're only at -25c , guess we should feel lucky.
But yeah it was a great run...

never learned the formula, never will and the internet doesn't solve it, just tells you how. I've worked in ND winters, it sucks. Had a cable wrapped around my battery and jumper cables made from sparky stud welding leads. 10 feet of lighter cable that is freeze resistant. It still cracks over time. Seat in my Charger was like a wooden chair and one day, I pushed in the clutch and the pedal stayed on the floor. Collapsed pressure plate

They are saying 40 degrees f today, but 8 tomorrow and for a week. Would you guys please keep that crap up there with you? Going stock up on milk and beer to hunker down.
