Agreed. And I don't care how much you "need a check" , there is such a thing as holding on to your dignity, morals and principle; Mr petty seemed to have sold his. And this latest atrocity/slap in the face shown here is just the icing on the cake.I lost all respect for Petty after this
I've had Plymouth GTXs in my blood ever since Petty set the unbroken 1967 record in a Hemi Belvedere. I still drive the current one, but like many of us, it's now a historical artifact. Time has moved on, and that car has become my last remaining gesture at stopping the clock. The whole landscape has changed. Car today aren't the cars of the past. To me, cars that we enjoyed back then, are called classic cars today. If you're waiting for the old days, rent the movie. What we enjoyed is now called history.
X2So, one gets old and does stuff that others don't agree with so you lose respect for that person even though he was once a king? He wasn't ever a tyrant that I can remember.....and I still respect him.
There's been a few Toyo cars that caught my eye over the years but that one isn't one of them.....Minus the graphics, I really dig that car especially in that color! Ignore the marketing and concentrate on the car and at least some of us think it's pretty (Petty?) awesome.

If you don't change with the times, you get run over. Are we using two cans and a wire or the newfangled phones. We seem to pick are likes and dislikes by our personal thoughts. He's still the king, not God.....

Why's that? It's not like the colour was exclusive to Plymouth. Richard's first Petty Blue car was an Oldsmobile.Sorry, I didn't even like when Petty poured that color and number on Chevy's, Oldsmobiles, and Pontiacs back in the day. Not to mention the year at Ford. So, this is not that much different. And I still don't like it.
It's personal experience. I started watching nascar when Petty was running his Plymouths. Just like my comment, it's a personal opinion. Why's that? It's not like the colour was exclusive to Plymouth. Richard's first Petty Blue car was an Oldsmobile.

I agree, I mean he one season even drove a Ford, but he came back. So, one gets old and does stuff that others don't agree with so you lose respect for that person even though he was once a king? He wasn't ever a tyrant that I can remember.....and I still respect him.
He also went drag racing one year.....and even crashed and killed a person.I agree, I mean he one season even drove a Ford, but he came back.
We all make mistakes.
He is still my Hero, and a nice guy.
