73 Dodge Charger 318 w30 heads 262 comp cam. So when I Google this it took me to many dodge truck forums but I still can't find an answer. Just got done installing new wiring harness behind dash. That is after I tried using a painless one. Got mad gutted car, redid seams and sound deadener and foam and new carpet. Installed a factory harness
and since car hasn't ran in 4 months. I checked fluids my brain doesn't work like it used to. It was good middle of range on dip stick! got car started. Ran bad so I adjusted the carb and got it running great then it died and when it would start it ran bad. Finally I hop in car to start it and the passenger floor is filled . Check oil and it doesnt register any more WTF

Mechanical gauge, the line broke.. look for a white translucent plastic/nylon line from the rear of the engine next to the distributor to under the dash...

OmG. Despite checking gauge after it was off and feeling the carpet under the gauge and not finding anything I think I took it as a sign to fight that battle another day. Thank you. I guess sometimes the most obvious is the cause.

If the dash gauge works I'd just plug the hole for the mechanical gauge, they are prone to leaking & filling the interior with oil..... Good news that floor board won't rust anymore....

A lot of those cracks will happen right where the hose runs through the firewall. I'm guessing the heat from the engine compartment along with the friction of the grommet help speed the process up.

I had an oil pressure line let go on my mid year Corvette, which soaked the newly installed carpeting. What a mess it was to clean up and had to order another set of carpeting. Lucky it happened close to home.
