Old dog still learning

M & M,

Here is a link to the guy I got mine from: http://www.powerbrakeservice.net/dodge--chrysler--plymouth.html

He has 2 for the 66 -70 MOPARs and this one specifically calls out a Charger. The other is for the rest of the B-Bodies. Contact him and verify that this is the correct unit..

This is actually my 2nd system. The first (different maker) had a piston failure and put aluminum particles into my P/S system. It contaminated and destroyed the pump and contaminated the power steering box as well. When we installed the new one, I put a filter in the line to trap any nasties. The one I uses is by Magnafine.

Jeff

Don't know why the "power steering" is showing up as a link??

Welcome aboard, I bet many of us could say we kept a few! Sweet Charger.

Awesome charger you have and congrats on holding on to it all these years. The '68 is my personal favorite of the Chargers, don't have one.........but maybe someday :clock:
I am very interested in how you solve your low line pressure problem on your disc conversion. I have the same problem on my '69 Bee. I'm using the smallest diameter bore M/C to increase line pressure, but way more pedal travel than I like and still marginal braking in my opinion. I would love to hear what your solution is.

Missiles,
I might have come across something! On the DodgeCharger forum in the brake section firefighter Ron posted a sticky of his experience with an SSBC install. Long story short, the instructions tell you to set the rear proportioning valve half way. This caused a hydro-lock to occur on the rear before the fronts had enough pressure. He opened it up all the way --and -- bam -- he had full pressure to the front too. I did the same tonight, and after a short around the block due to weather, I can tell the pedal feels MUCH better. Not stamping it fixed yet, but good feeling so far!
