Just put a pair of 29.5x10.5 Pro Bracket Radials on my Savoy.Looking for any tips or suggestions. Plan on starting at 20psi and rancho shocks set on full stiff.
Car 60fts 1.44 with stiff wall bias slicks.

Thanks

We run my sons 62 at 18psi. Been 1.38 w/3.55 @3775. Stiffer compression and looser rebound than bias

What width rim ? I run them on a 10" , friend on 8"
He runs 20 psi , i normally run 19 1/4
Ranchos didnt work for me with them faster then 11.0s . I now have Viking radial valved .
Been 1.42 . Love they dont spin up like the ET SS , more like a rag . Will still drive out even when turning .
Normally no drama as long as some prep . Yesterday 6 passes all spun , went as poor as1.6 sixty . But it was cold 15deg C max with a windchill of maybe 4 deg C . It was blowing a gale . Track prep has also become sketchy . Will try T&T again next week
I will normally get 150 passes at least per set

Thanks Tex, I have them on 10" rims. I got 5 passes on them, went 1.44, 1.41, 1.60 ??, 1.45 and 1.44 but they were spinning pretty much right after initial hit maybe 5 ft out. had the shocks anywhere from full tight to middle. I gave up them for now until I can test and tune and try and figure out shocks and preload on the calverts bars.

Preload on Caltracs should not change , mine are just touching to 1/4 turn preload . At your HP the shock control on extension is the biggest issue I have found .
My ext is #5-7 from full loose , comp# 10 . Viking have 15 or 19 clicks of adjustment
Keep at it

Loosen the rear rebound. Need to smack them hard as the sidewalls are stiff.

I need to go somewhere and test, I'd like to loosen the shocks and put the bars in the top hole. I put the bias tires back on Sunday and the car 60ft 1.44 and 1.43 with the wheels up and out no spin. Damn them radials, I got to get them to work

i run 17-18lbs in mine depending on weight added for index.
last race: 1.340, 1.346, 1.342, 1.342, 1.346, 1.342
My rebound was already loose as I was hitting my bias too hard. I stiffened up my shocks 3 clicks. i think the key is on the other end though! LOOSE on the front!

Brent, what shocks are you running?

Thanks,
Jim

I have afco double adjustables on the rear.
I had them on the front also. I could not get the front loose enough. I went back to a comp engineering front just to get more travel. It really likes it. I have run an NMCA event, a nostalgia event and a local bracket race in 100 degree heat and it goes down the track every pass so far.

Strange, I couldn't get my Afco fronts tight enough. With the original valveing they ran at 0 -2R from full tight.

that's right , but if spinning out from line could be topping out shock and unloading . So tighter to slow extension .

Good point. But since it doesn't top out when he runs bias my thought that it should be OK. Video would tell all.

I run 28x9 PBR’s on 8” rims. They seem to work best for me at just under 18psi (17.8) I don’t put big demands on my tires, but they hook up and have been every bit, if not more consistent than the ET Drags I had on it before. I ran those tires at 16psi. I run Calvert shocks at full stiff. I found that setup worked best with the bias-plies, and have not had need to change anything since going to the Radials.

Jim, just curious...why do you want to move away from the well-sorted bias plys? Better ET? As I understand it, most stock eliminator guys will run radials for class eliminations (heads up), then switch to bias plys for the bracket portion for consistency. Maybe this isn't the way it is today, but at one time I think it was.

I had heard good things about the pbr’s and thought I would give em a try. I will give them another try, with all input from everyone I should get them to work. I like stiff sidewalls and higher air psi.

The PBR was made to bridge that gap between better et and consistency. It is more forgiving than the previous radials. My car is more consistent on a radial than it was on a bias.
