People suck sometimes

I did the roll tap in the rear a couple of times while working. Both times at the scene they were suggesting things were more serious than the “nothing” that had happened. I just happened to work for one of the largest, well known insurers in the country. Both times I handed them my business card and said “are you sure you want to go there”?

Never heard from either one of them……

This is why it is helpful to have a police report after a collision. The officer can testify to the condition of the parties involved.
The last time I exchanged info and drove off, the other party came back and called the cops. I will never ever do that again!! The other party will always lie.....

Most of these fuggers are just looking for a payout.
Years ago I slapped mirrors with a parked car on a tight downtown street, didn't hurt mine but shattered theirs.
So, being a good white guy even though I would have been fine just driving away I left a note with my number. When they called, (a kid was translating for the non-english speaking parent) and said "oh just give us your insurance", and I said "noooo....I will repair it for you myself, not a big deal.." they hung up and that was the last I heard from them.
Fugg'n fuggers.

Our insurance companies don't fight hard enough for the clients either
they charge extortion for covering US, we pay we have no choice not to
but then they settle with some douchebag they know is a scammer/fraud

I guess it's cheaper then sending one of their many lawyers on retainer to fight

double edge sword, people suck & so does insurance

even if you've been with them for decades

I've been lucky, all mine have been documented
& honorable people, they were all in the wrong

But;
I had 1 in HS where I ran into the back of a jacked up 67 Camaro
was like @ 15 mph, it messed that car up, stupid sh-t
on J-street cruise in Sacramento in like 1975-ish, in my 68 Charger R/T...

I f--ked up, my hood & grill, screwed my radiator, overheated my 440
had to rebuild it all, get a new radiator, drivers side frt fender, lights
I needed new heads, drove it off, tried to make it home to Georgetown
an hour + away up the hill, overheated bigtime...
I had to get all new stuff...
I got 'like nothing' from the/my insurance company, to fix my car
the guys Camaro got fixed 100%
we both had State Farm Insurance too
(I replaced it all, bought a donor car std. 318, 68 Charger for $150 ,
that had rear damage from the auto-shop teacher at school & used the whole front clip
)

Being teenage boys;
We were watching yelling at girls with a carload of HS buddies/guys,
me & 4 friends, the guy ahead of me stopped short of the traffic,
like 5 cars short of the next car up at the stoplight,
I didn't see it... Doh !!!
I did drive it off...
The Camaro was on a tow hook...

my extortion insurance payment went up too,
from like $200 a year to like $350 a year, I made $1.65 an hr,
that's a hard pill to swallow
I had to pay it or I couldn't drive...

It didn't matter, I was at fault, I told the truth, I was honest
cost me like $500+ back then, I did all the work, myself
I bought my car org. for $350 a year or so earlier
I did most the work on the engine in the schools auto-shop
& it'd be in the $10k+ maybe $15k+
probably $25k in todays $$$ to fix it now, with the people running them now
even with decent insurance... That isn't spineless hacks...

Well lucky for everyone, there WILL be cameras in all cars! And microphones, and alcohol blood sensors, and sat antennas to send all that data in!
But they aren't doing it to prevent fraud.....
Careful what you wish for!

Dash cams all the way, got hit on freeway exchanged info. Guy apologized for hitting me said he got scared as lanes closing in. Well following day insurance Called me said i hit him i should have recorded him my fault for not . First thing insurance asked if i had dash cam. I did not but i did go out and get one after that. This new ride we bought in December is a rolling computer. It has a function whereby if someone starts getting threat close it automatically begins recording from all sides for 30 secs. It also has a feature whereby it’ll forewarn you when w/i 1000 yrds of a traffic camera at intersections. Then when within 400 yds of mobile or stationary radar an alert goes off. I haven’t actually experienced any of these yet - I like to stay clear of LEO. Not an expensive add-on and it’s by annual subscription $25 per. It’s all in the car - you get to test it for month then Subscribe if you want. I did.

It will record everywhere you go, your driving habits, listen to conversations you have, and anything else they can digitize and transmit regardless if you subscribe or not.

I was at fault in a minor rear end accident as a teen where there was very little damage to my car and almost nothing to the other one. My dad had talked to the lady on the phone and she accepted a check for something like $150. Sure enough I get letter from a lawyer about how she is suing me. I learned at that time that he noted on the check that it was payment in full for the accident and he told the lawyer as much. Apparently, cashing that check ended her claim against me and we never heard about it again.
