been it the woods my whole life; hunting, fishing, quadding, partying........ never had a reaction to it...........

I was wearing shorts and a T shirt last Saturday, it was warm and humid. Sunday night I start itching like 10 mo-fo's......... by Monday I had welts up and down my arms and legs.

Don't scratch it, they said....... yeah, right

at first I thought it was bites; but more kept popping up, as late as yesterday; but not as severe

been sleeping on the couch, barely......... seems to be backing off today, I was wishing for death last night.......... WTF!!!

I always knew it was all over behind my building, but it never bothered me. I have to be on top of it in the spring

Waited till you were bearist didn't it. The indians had smarts enough to smear themselves with bear grease to repell the bugs and things like poison ivy.

Poor eldubb440, get well soon
hope the dog doesn't roll around in it...

Never got poison ivy,
had poison oak a few times... Not fun :BangHead:
an old GF {she is native American} of mine made some home remedy
IIRC it was ground up Tea leaves & raw Oatmeal, water {?} paste
seemed to help/worked to stop some of the itching...
It didn't make me want to "scrape my skin off" anymore at least...
I'm sure there's less messy remedies too...

Benadryl tablets worked some too, for the itching...

That pink (calamine ?) **** they sell at the Pharmacy
for Sumac Allergy reactions, didn't do **** for me...

I was near suicide at age 12 with it. Got it under the cast for my broken wrist. Layed in the tub with a ruler, ran it under the cast to knock it open and followed with rubbing alcohol. It's a ******* curse.
Had it on my nuts too, and head to toe.

Pics or it didn't happen!

oh, it happened...... blood thinners make for a nice shiner

I've always gotten it, I can spot that crap from a mile away!

It's actually not that bad if you don't ever scratch it. For relief I turn to a blow dryer set as hot as it will go or super hot water.... feels so good.

Get some Zanfel, look it up.
We use it at work quite regularly, its the only thing that works. Even after you have the rash.
I get it through work, but believe Wally, CVS, etc sell it.
Expensive, but worth it.

Hot & humid = open pores bad combo with pissin'ivy. My wife would bleed to death from scratching.

I have had it several times.
One time I had it on my crotch. My member was about twice the thickness as normal but the same length. It felt weird peeing through it.
Another time, I looked like this....

I usually wipe the sores with Vodka. It is cheaper than the medicine. I have used Zanfel, also Domboro. Domboro is an astringent, basically it dries out the affected area.
There has been a common cycle that I go through...
Itchy areas.
Slight redness and small bumpy sections.
Redness increases a little, bumpy sections ooze puss, itchiness increases.
Redness increases more, bumpy sections flatten out, oozing diminishes. Itching continues.
Redness peaks, skin flattens and dries out. Itching diminishes.
Redness turns to pink, skin is smooth, minimal itching.
Skin color normal and smooth, no itch.
