Post your 10 second combo's

Even at 4100 pounds and 2200 feet?
Ran a 10.57 @ 128 with a 1.46 60 last night backed up with 2 more 59's. I did have a looser converter in it this spring and it did the same off the line but only MPH'd 123 and I was down 3/10ths to where I'm at now. That was an 8" body though. I was told 9.5" min for my size if car. 10.90's was the norm with that converter.

Ah converter science. Smaller or higher stall doesn't mean the converter was as good. I run a 9 1/2 that stalls 6200-6300. Two different converter cores, same stall same fall back on the shift. One is .10-15 quicker than the other. Just installed another one tonight. We'll see what happens this weekend. The numbers look a little weak in the 1/8th compared to the 1/4. 128 will easily go 10.30/low .40 in a bracket car.

Sonoma Raceway Wed night. Ran 10.58 Then I had trans brake button issues so I only ran one pass.

Wanted to get out once more this year but the weather is saying differently. The weekend year end wrap up appears as though it's not gonna fly :(
Long time till next may.

We got a 1/2 foot of snow over the night, sometimes I hate where I live.

we are looking at 32 deg Celsius today  . must be spring .

81 Here today, Hoping for low 70's on weekend of Oct 22/23 for the Hot Rod ReUnion Race....but...it could very well be in the 90's. Low 70's could give us about 1100 feet Adjusted Altitude. If we get that air I think my 10.57's can go down into the 10.40's. The 10.57's last race were at 3500-3700' Adjusted Altitude. Real altitude of the track at Famoso (Bakersfield, CA) is 672' above sea level.

For all the issues here in Ca It's a place you can race almost all year.

Wednesday 10/12 Sonoma. first run 10.68. I seem to slow down the colder the air is. I am a bit confused as to why my final run of the night was 10.78 Dazed and Confused. any thoughts on why that happens?

A head or crosswind ?, like normal there later it gets,
especially past the grandstands & 1st track turn area

air/tire pressure on the slicks down, chattering etc.
tires not biting as well, especially under 70* track temps

Lean ? {cooler denser air, maybe need more fuel}

not enough heat in the engine ?

crap blown on to the track from all day exposures ?
Track prep or starting line or 60' goes away ?

could be a bunch more issues, unforeseen
we'd need far more info

good luck

May be set on the lean side in normal air and it may be to lean for the cooler air. Most race cars are a little on the fat side in normal summer race weather. So when the cooler air comes in later in the season most cars pick up since they are a tad on the fat side and now when they race in that cool heavy air that packs more into the cylinders it takes advantage of running a tad on the fat side. But if you jet on the lean side in the summer air you wont pick up much in the cooler fall air. I just notice that most bracket racers jet for mph and many end up a tad on the rich (fat) side including myself at times but since my 63 is a street car I did stay a tad leaner then I would if it was race only. Wed night drags Sonoma. The car still ran slower tonight Who knows why no wind but the track condition may play into it since my 60' were off some. It was a great night not even crowded as the usual Wed night. I got in 5 practice runs and made adjustment to mett the car times. I took 2nd place with a 10.83 on a 10.82 dial. On the final round I couldn't make the curtain call. My battery died. Oh well fun night to say the least.

Did you try richening up the carb a little?
