UPDATE

For drag week this year (since the 588 Hemi AL block millenium headed engine is not done yet), we had the old Roadrunner chassis dyno tuned. We tuned it the week before drag week and it made (483HP on the first pull, we had jetted it back down some), but then after the MAN (Chris Johnson @ Chris Johnson Racing Engines) tuned it up it made 495 RWHP and had picked up over 30 lb-ft at 3000 RPM. Every day during Drag Week 2012 my brother ran 11:40's all week with some ballast. He ended up bing in the top 3 cars with a 11:60 average ET and had a dial in of 11:50 for the bracket racing. He made it thru the first round before the rain set in and Hot Rod called the event.

Congrats MR B BODY, sounds great, sounds like it was a fun event too... 495hp @ the rear wheels is nice...

It is widely known on all the lx/lc forums. I am the only one to get into the 11's on motor so far. There is one nitrous car and one blower car with an ecm swap to also go 11's.
Was at the Woodburn,Oregon track in October and saw a late model charger go 9.60's on 3 stages of n2o.
Ended the day braking the rear end.

My 11 sec combo.

68 Coronet 440, 4000lb with me in it.

Engine 470 low deck
Source heads with very light intake port work
10.6:1 compression 91 octane pump gas
M1 single plane maifold
Quick fuel 950 carb
1.5 rockers
125gph mechanical fuel pump
1 7/8 Hooker competition
Running a solid flat cam, Comp XS290S dial at 112 maybe a bit too much retarded ???
3in dual exhaust with super Turbos mufflers

Manual body valve Fwd pattern.
FTI 9.5in 3800rpm converter
3.73, 8 3/4 rear
Hemi leaf spring with extended pinion snubber.

275/60r15 Nitto NT555R

The car has everything stock inside, still running 7 blade fan and power steering.

It ran 11.81 at 114mph car is street driven and except it is a pig on gas it is quite streetable

It should go faster this summer, getting more porting on the heads, steeper gear, 1.6 rockers and mayber a solid roller cam like an XR286R but not sure yet on the cam. It will depend on the flow we can get from the heads and also if i can convince myself that a solid roller cam can survive on the street, I am worried about the lifter themselves, any good or bad experience with solid roller lifter doing maybe 1000 to 1500 miles and 20-30 runs per summer ?

67gtx 0324 tell us more about your combo, as this is very similar to what I want for my 67 Belvedere. I know it will likely be a little slower due to weight, but your car is exactly where I want to be performance wise.
Thanks

I've been following you and your brothers cars for a long time hoping to see you at one of the tracks to say hello
very very nice 63

I'm hoping that after the upcoming changes I'll be able to post my findings here. Tell me what you think of the combo:
70 Charger 4100 lbs with driver.
493, 10.7 compression. Iron block, Edelbrock RPM heads Unmodified. 261/271 @ .050 .558/.578 Lunati Solid, 850 Demon carb, Edelbrock RPM intake, 2" TTI headers, 2 1/2" exhaust & tailpipes. MP electronic ignition, Chrome box, MSD blaster 2 coil. 727 with 3000 stall, GV OD, 3.91 diff. I have access to slicks but may buy some Drag radials for racing.
Is this capable of breaking into the 11 second bracket?

only thing I managed under 11 seconds was the burnout....
