100 miles today. PCH. Fuel still above 3/4? RPM’s are 2035 @72 MPH in 5th. Was 2150 @ 70 with previous TKO so lower. Rolls on real nice, got on it a little. Spark advance kissed 29 at highway cruise. No hiccups. Restarts. All good.

Love those cruising rpm's, pretty much perfect for a mild BB.

I envy you for even being able to drive the damn thing!!!! Here's what I'm looking at right now... my driveway.

Not sure I understand. The spark advance was at 29 degrees or the advance was at some unknown number that allowed you 29 miles per gallon ? I'm guessing 29 mpg because at cruise conditions, the engine needs a LOT more timing because the air and fuel molecules are not packed as tight as they are under wide open throttle.
Either way, it is great that this is working out for you.

No 29 mpg. Maybe I’m confused, but am trying to determine if the vacuum advance is working for highway range. The reading high was 29 so I guess it is. Third box from left, bottom row. This is a file shot.

I was wondering too. Assuming 34* int + mech, another 29* vacuum advances to 63*. Could happen cruising 55 mph downhill.

My Charger just on mechanical advance is 33 degrees. The vacuum adds another 15. I dialed back the vacuum advance to avoid part throttle spark knock.

Hey Dennis would you mind attaching a photo like the one I've got below for comparison? It's obviously a photo with the air cleaner removed, with the tape measure resting on the "joint" between the intake manifold and the head (second photo), similar to the photo you took, but without the air cleaner. I am running the same air cleaner, but with the hidden dropped-base (mine or yours), it's hard to compare my existing combo height to yours... My setup: 1970 Roadrunner, 440 RB Block, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold (#7193), QuickFuel carb = looks like it's about 7.5" high to the air cleaner base at the top of the carb.



With the same air cleaner you're running, the top of the air cleaner already touches the hood insulation with my current setup. For the Pro Flo 4 model 35910, the Edelbrock website says:

• Manifold Height: 6.100 in.
• Throttle Body Height: 2.250 in.

That's 8.35" compared to my 7.5". I'm not sure I can manage any additional height. The Roadrunner hood may be different than the Dodge hood (??? Anyone know if they're the same height?) It looks like the Coronet/Bee '68 Power Bulge may be taller than the '70 RR...
