Progress report, Junkyard Dog

Some of that stuff is very hard to clean, you may end up using some of that green Phosphorus stuff to eat out the rust.

Matt, I used to LIVE at 9 mile in Eastpoint! Back then it was East Detroit. Then they changed the name to Eastpointe. Guess they want to be more associated with the "Grosse Pointes". Now I hear the city of Detroit wants to go up-scale and do the same thing. I guess they'll call it "Gun Pointe"!

Then they'll spell it "Gunn" to keep from scaring the :tiphat::wave3::wavesmile::hello:(tourists) away.

Yes, you are right, tourism is our problem!:rolling::rolling: Ever see the T-Shirt that says "I'm so bad, I vacation in Detroit"?

Hey Scott, how long ago did you live there? I come from a long line of east siders. I lived in Warren until `76, when we moved to Troy, but continued to visit the majority of the close extended family that stayed. I don't miss it, how about you?.

I'm leaving for Mustique tomorrow for 3 weeks, but will stay connected here and hopefully still posting pics in this thread on any progress made on the "DOG" in my absence. This will be the first time, second if you include media blasting, that somebody else will be working this project. My good friend Randy Booden, who owns B&B Collision will be making sure that all of my freshly blasted parts get primed and protected for the long haul.

Just got word that the "DOG" is in primer:grin:, They will send some pics later today, can't wait to see it!:popcorn:. I'll post them once I get them.

Here is the "DOG" in primer! Pics are a little on the dark side, but it's good to see it anyway, all I have seen for the past week and a half are small cars and trucks and Kawasaki Mules on this island!:rolling:.

That's nice! Any reason for a dark primer vs. a lighter primer? What kind is it? Any further prep work to the metal after blasting?

Ok, now I'm really going to chomp on that bit this weekend; both cars are going to be DONE, Media Blasted completely, that's it, no more B.S. and excuses, I can get the Chevelle next week!!

The next pics you see will be BOTH my cars in primer, some kind...not sure, self etch, light or dark, epoxy...suggestions?

I think he used DP90 and I'm not sure why it's black, but I am not a painter and also haven't talked to him yet since he sent me those pics. I'll find out tomorrow.

Looks outstanding Matt. Moving right along! Can't wait to see the progress when you get back from the islands.. Take care

LOL, thanks Matt. Good to be back. I tried out the whole pack of wild dogs thing, but sniffing butts just got way to awkward!

All I can say is WOW!! Thumbsup to ya man!!

Hey Matt, hurry home...The "Dog" called, said it's sick of collecting dust while you're out galavanting on tropical islands!

so now are you done with your part of the dog and having the body shop finish every thing else up to reassembly? or is your hand going to stay in the picture?
