Progress report, Junkyard Dog

With all these people we may need more than a few cases of beer might as well bring a Keg or 2,and with the strippers on top of it I have a feeling we wont get much work done to the J Dog,oh well all work and no play right!

You better be there Donny!, I think we should do it. Find a centrally located Mopar show and make a few days out of it. My plan is a 5 spd. for the "DOG" so I can jump in and drive to Mopars at the strip or to my friends place in upstate NY, or wherever. Isn't there a big show in St. Louis??. I can see it now, get the people that own the site to pop for a decent size canopy with the FBBO logo on it along with some shirts and show up to a show in force!!.:grin:

Man on man, that sounds so cool, almost like a dream, just barely out of reach...but, we'll see! I'd want to drive there in my car (I think), but likely just haul it up there, hell, even if it's not 'done' all the way, we should mark a date on the calender, and bring what we got done, who knows, maybe someone will want to buy what we have, and write a big fat check!

Hey General, my buddies place is in Milan, which is by Rhinebeck, Red Hook. I helped the guys that were hired to build his place and did all of the finish work including the kitchen and a ton of work on the exterior, the house has been in a few books and continues to be published in Design and architecture mags. It may be my favorite house, I love to spend time there.

Hey Roadrunnerman, I have been busting my *** on the "DOG" a lot lately and he will be ready for final assembly of the body when I get back from the Island. Which meens I am likely still a year out from being back on the road.

i can't wait to see it when you're done.knowing what you've done with it,it will be better than it was when it left the factory.sounds like st.louis is the place everybody is going to meet, you or somebody will have to tell me when in september that is so i can take my time off so the wife and i can head down there.

The "DOG" left left for the media blaster today:grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:!!!. A huge turning point in the resto and I couldn't be happier about it!. Besides the chassis/skeleton, I also took the inner fenders, core support, fenders, door shells, upper cowl, dash frame and the k-frame. + a few small pieces. Just out of curiosity, what would you have charged one of your clients?, Donny.

Hey Matt, looking good! I'd charge for what I see, and the said parts as follows, but, this is my wholesale price I'd give you, same price I give my best clients:

Inner Fenders: both of them $90.00
Core Support: $40.00
Fenders: both of them $138.00
Doors, both of them: $138.00
Upper Cowel: $45.00
Dash Frame: $45.00
K Member: $45.00
Car Shell: This one I'd charge by the hour, ($130.00) (reg rate $150.00) not sure how long it would take, I'd guesstimate about 3+ hrs of blasting time on the shell, or, what's left of the shell! :)

Add about 20% for a walk in customer.

I'm using Plastic with a dash of Alum Oxide to cut the rust, at about 35 psi at the pot, 18 or so out the nozzle. These are my cards, on the table, hope this helps in your 'negotiating' a price.

I'm interested in knowing what you are going to pay...if you chose, send me a PM.

Just so evrybody knows, Donny's price was very competitive, and I would have chose him if he didn't live so damn far away!.

Well thank you sir! It would have been worth a road trip, jeesh, if you can go down the the West Indies at will...:)

I wish I were closer to Donny, I just paid $210.00 to have 2 fenders done with original paint and no rust. Anyway, about the car,I'm very impressed and looking forward to future progress. Keep up the great work.

post pics of the fenders that you paid $210.00 to get done. I think it's a bit high; prolly the blaster is using a weak compressor; takes too much time, and he's billing by time.

There are 2 shops around here that media blast and they both quoted me the same price.(Diplomat fenders)They did a nice job, but if they were more reasonable I would have them do a lot more work.
